Easter.

It's what's coming in THREE weeks.

Did you scream?
LOL,

Trust me when I say I have it worse- we had our Krewe of Erin tea/crowning and St Pattys Day parade, then Miss Grace is switching dance studios (shout out to McTeggart Irish Dancers in NOLA!), then we have her birithday party and THEN we have Easter AND her First Communion on the same day!.

WHEW. March Madness indeed!

Grace has bee our major keyword this month. Grace to stay calm, keep everything going on time, grace not to kill the kid when she dissolves from pre-teen angst (oh yes indeed, almost age 8 and we've got it ALREADY), God's grace to let dad come home from the hospital with no ongoing issues, and grace to share with others,  in all the ways we do this month and next.

And then there is God's grace.

That is something Miss Grace has been discussing a lot of in her First Communion classes. how Jesus's grace to follow his father's will was to save us all from our sins, how God's grace continues to bring those who stray back into his fold (even if sometimes they aren't very willing, sorta like Miss Grace not wanting to take a picture in the NOMA garden above), and how his grace is so much more than eggs on a green lawn at Easter time, and how it is always there for us like a 'I love you no matter what' hug!

God's love and grace for us allows us truly be made in his image, and we are thrilled that companies like Zonderkidz exist, so that our kids can share their love of books with that love. And maybe that is what the traditions of Easter truly teach us: sharing is proof of God's grace showing in each one of us. ANd isn't life better when you can share God's grace with friends and family?

And maybe when we see our kids sharing with others,

miss grace sharing with toddler

we truly ARE seeing God's grace in each and every step they take.

SO our hope for you this Easter season is that you see God's grace in your children, that as a family you find ways to share his grace, both in obvious and un-obvious ways, and that God's grace shine on each and every one of you, just as it did when Jesus returned to share God's grace with us all!

And now for something GREAT from our friends at Zonderkidz"

Lee Strobel, along with Jesse Florea, presents the concept of grace in a way kids eight to twelve relate to. Sharing stories of people who have been changed by God’s love and forgiveness, learning to forgive those who have hurt them, as well as forgive themselves. Lee also shares never-before-seen stories from his own journey from atheism to Christianity, and how God’s redeeming love personally affected him. Throughout the book, readers will see how God’s grace can change their lives and relationships today. (I'll be reviewing the book next week too!)

You

You Have a Brain by Dr. Ben Carson

Throughout his life, renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson has needed to overcome many obstacles: His father leaving the family; being considered stupid by his classmates in grade school; growing up in inner-city Detroit; and having a violent temper. But Dr. Carson didn't let his circumstances control him, and instead discovered eight principles that helped shape his future.

In You Have a Brain: A Teen’s Guide to Think Big, Dr. Carson unpacks the eight important parts of Thinking Big—Talent, Honesty, Insight, being Nice, Knowledge, Books, In-Depth learning, and God—and presents the stories of people who demonstrated those things in his life. By applying the idea of T.H.I.N.K. B.I.G. to your life, and by looking at those around you as well, you too can overcome obstacles and work toward achieving your dreams. Includes discussion questions.
