Ever wish you could be in two places at once?

Busy moms everywhere can relate – and now there’s a (fictional) app for that!

She Writes founder Kamy Wicoff’s fiction debut,  Wishful Thinking, explores one woman's journey to appreciating the joys of living life in real time after finding an app that lets her be in more than one place.

Synopsis:

Jennifer Sharpe has problems just about any working parent can relate to: her boss expects her to work as though she doesn’t have children, and her children want her to care for them as though she doesn’t have a boss. But when Jennifer suddenly finds herself in possession of a miraculous time travel app called Wishful Thinking, she thinks she may have found the solution.

With the app, Jennifer goes quickly from zero to hero in every part of her life: she is super worker, the last to leave her office every night; she is super mom, the first to arrive at pickup every afternoon; and she even becomes super girlfriend, dating a musician who thinks she has unlimited child care and a flexible job. But Jennifer soon finds herself facing questions that adding more hours to her day can’t answer. Why does she feel busier and more harried than ever? And when choosing to be with your children, at work, or with your partner doesn’t involve sacrifice, do those choices lose their meaning?

Review:

If you're a working mom, especially, you will LOVE this book. We've ALL been there, trying to get in the extra hours for the extra pay/favors, but having to attend school/extracurricular functions with the kids, and just flat out needing TIME to ourselves (seriously why is laundry only DONE for about 14 seconds, before there is mysteriously another load, after you just finished 8 loads?). This is an uber quick read- mainly because you just can NOT put it down! I finished it in 2 sittings, only because I had to! It is funny, charming, realistic (hey, who says magic doesn't exist?), and full of all the yearnings and realities that modern moms have! It is THE book you'll be sharing with all your mom friends and relatives this Spring. And you'll never think of 'there's an app for that' the same way again!
