Book Review: House of Echoes by Brendan Duffy

Synopsis:

Review:

This tale within a tale is pure gothic mystery. This is a page turner once you sink your teeth into it. Stay with it after the first couple of chapters and you will be rewarded with a tale that will haunt you for days after you finish! It is a classic horror story, of the horror within, and what family truly means. While set in New York, the tale could have been set in the deep South, and been perfectly,eerily Southern goth. It would make an interesting movie, though I'm not sure it would capture all the subtle nuances of the tale. Though I have to admit, I was casting it in my head as I was reading it! It is hard to believe this is Duffy's FIRST novel. He is a new voice to be reckoned with in the horror/thriller genre!
