Meet the SoapSox gang!
Aren't they just the CUTEST things?
Makes you want a couple, right?
You may recall seeing them on Shark Tank a while back?
SoapSox are the next generation of washcloths for kids. SoapSox are soft, cuddly and colorful characters that make bath time kids’ favorite past time!
The idea of SoapSox was born when founder, and CEO Ray Phillips, worked as a Program Director at a residential treatment facility with children who have experienced trauma. He saw firsthand the struggle many children have with bath time. One child in particular would not part with his favorite stuffed animal to get in the bath. So Ray modified the stuffed animal to hold soap. The child finally agreed to take a bath. Over the years Ray continued to use this strategy with countless other children. Phillips collaborated with Alvin Uy, head of a creative agency that develops products for brands including Disney, Hasbro and Mattel, to create SoapSox.
Taking nearly two years to develop and perfect, each SoapSox critter looks like a typical stuffed animal, yet is engineered to go in the bath so a child never has to part with his best friend!
Each of the 8 SoapSox buddies has an unique entry point for liquid or bar soap. Simply “feed” your SoapSox pal soap (part of the fun for kids), add water and scrub. As you can see Miss Grace was able to get a normal bar of soap into Harper the Hippo! The built-in finger pockets make it easy for kids to suds up and clean up. Add they do get sudsie! As you can se with just a little squeezing and rubbing, the sponge lets out the soap to get your little clean while they play!
Every SoapSox is “stuffed” with an antimicrobial sponge on the inside and covered with soft yet durable polyester terry cloth on the outside, so it can easily be popped in the washer and dryer quite easily. Plus they come with a 'rope' to attach to a loop on their heat for easy drying in the tub. And as Miss Grace says "they hold a LOT of water, so be sure to squeeze all the water out if you can! " And yes, she may be a bit old for a bathtub buddy, but as she said "they're soooo cute I have to have one!" And they are pretty cute with their heart shaped eyes and toes!
While you may not want a red Soapsox in your child's bed, they COULD go with them! They are made for play in and out of the tub, for greater security for your child! Plus they could go in the pool too! AHA- help for when the kids don't want to jump in the pool during swim lessons????
SoapSox can be found at Nordstrom, Buy Buy Baby, Bed Bath & Beyond and many other stores around the country and retail for $14.95. Each purchase of SoapSox gives back to organizations like Hillsides, that provide safe places for children. So you help your child AND a child in need! That's a 2-for-1 we can all love!
I'll be picking up these guys for baby showers for siblings- they are practical, cute and might help older brother or sister get over the feeling of being left out, if they have their own buddy to take care of! They'd also be fun presents for when the grandkids come to visit this Summer- think how surprised they would be to see these adorable faces waiting for them in the tub!
