This week I got to read not 1, but 3 (and yes, I have no idea how I managed that in the chaos that is my life) books, perfect for some light Halloween reading!

Let's start with one for the teens (and adults too!):

Synopsis
Welcome to Monsterland – the scariest place on Earth. All guests can interact with real vampires in Vampire Village, be chased by an actual werewolf on the River Run, and walk among the dead in Zombieville.

Wyatt Baldwin, a high school student and life-long movie buff is staring bleakly at a future of flipping burgers. Due to a fortuitous circumstance, Wyatt and his friends are invited to the star-studded opening of Monsterland. In a theme park full of real vampires, werewolves and zombies, what could possibly go wrong?

Review:
Four words- werewolves in Florida swamps. if you've ever been to the ones there or in Louisiana, you're gonna believe that werewolves are descendants of the Roogaroo, and probably ARE out there, with NO problem. So you KNOW you're gonna love this quick read of a book and you will!  MPC takes the idea of Jurassic Park and tilts it on its proverbial edge, gives it a good shake and comes up with another rollercoaster of a read, that you will NOT be able to put down. Ok, so you may HAVE to cause the teenager os standing their stamping their foot, demanding their book back, but you know what I mean. This would be a delicious movie and I hope someone grabs the rights soon! Be sure to check this one out!

Synopsis:

Fired from his job at the Tulsa Zoo, 26-year-old Zane Clearwater wakes from an alcohol-and cough syrup-induced blackout to learn his mother was killed the night before in a fire in their trailer-park home. Zane has no memory of that night-could he have set the blaze? The police have a lot of questions, but so do Zane and his 14-year-old sister Lettie. When he gets a mysterious text that indicates everything his mother told him about her past was a lie, Zane embarks on a journey of discovery that results in meeting his supposedly long-dead father. Jeremiah Doom has a dangerous streak as long as the Arkansas River and a shady, secretive life. Zane may share his father's Cherokee blood, but can he battle against the anger and violence that also lurks beneath the surface of his own skin? Is Zane destined to repeat the sins of his father?

Review:

Sometimes reality is just as scary as mythical stories about vampires and werewolves. Family secrets hold their own terror, don't they? This is another, you can NOT put it down read, and one that will leave you talking about it for days after you finish it! Lynn shows just how wicked a web of deceit and lies can be, and how ensnarled people can get, to where they can't get out and secrets get consumed. This is a riveting debut novel, not to be missed!

Synopsis:

Ever since landing in the magical world of Sang and falling in love with dashing ringmaster Criminy Stain, Tish has been waiting for the axe to fall. Until her dying grandmother’s last breath on Earth, Tish can’t bring herself to give up her all-too human frailty and commit to life on Sang as a youthful, long-lived Bludman like her handsome husband. But when a peculiar twist of fate delivers Tish’s grandmother to Sang, an unexpected chain of events forces Tish and Criminy to embark on one last wild adventure. From old friends to new and into the lair of terrifying enemies, the couple’s love and longevity will be pushed to the brink by each harrowing encounter. Is blud thicker than blood, and can Tish and Crim find their wicked ever after?

Review:

This is actually Book 7 in the author's Blud series, but the first I had read. The cover doesn't quite match up to the story, but it does get your attention, LOL. This is definitely a read alone, as it has R and X rated scenes in it, but they can be skipped over, if you prefer, as they aren't crucial to the story, but part of the tale none the less. this book is a decision point, where Tish  must now decide to 'cross over' or not. Readers will delight in picking nuances up from other fictional tales and seeing them twisted in the world of Sang. This is a super quick read, and one could consider it a trickish treat to give yourself for Halloween! Check it out, if you are looking for a new twist on the Vampire legend!
