Synopsis:

This is a fun little bite of chick lit, perfect for taking away the holiday stress! While the astute reader will have a sense of what is coming next, you want to keep reading. With lots of film references, modern scenarios and some vintage movie lore, mixed with a non-typical romance (people over 30!!!) in a MG across the country, and you have a fun book that you'll be telling your friends about. And if you love Bette Davis movies, then you'll love all the references! Don't miss this one!
About the Author:
Jane Lotter is a Seattle-based writer and humorist whose work has appeared in national publications. Her hilarious column Jane Explains ran in the Jet City Maven (later The Seattle Sun) from 1999 to 2005, winning several awards, including a first place for humorous writing from the Society of Professional Journalists. Jane’s debut novel, The Bette Davis Club, is a character-driven comedy and coast-to-coast romp that won first place in the Mainstream Novel category in the 2009 Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s literary contest. Jane’s own favorite humor writers are Nora Ephron, Sophie Kinsella, and Carrie Fisher.
I admit it, Bette Davis in the title of this book is what drew me in. I adore her! I was Turner Classic Movies all the time and it has turned me into a fanatic for movies and stars from the 30's and 40's. So I know I will enjoy this book and I hope that I am able to find it and read it. I sure wish it was on audio.
