A study, from the Northwestern University, examined the amount of acne in adults over age 20, and found that acne affects more than 50 percent of women between the ages of 20-29 and more than 25 percent of women between the ages of 40-49. Why such late periods you ask? Hormones, Plain and simple!

Acne is common during pregnancy (especially during the first trimester) and during pre-menopausal women, when surging hormone levels trigger increased oil production. That in turn triggers sticky skin cells to accumulate and clog up follicles, thus increasing the number of the acne-causing bacterium and causing the resultant skin inflammation. Even women who have been blessed with blemish-free skin for most of their lives are susceptible. I know, I've had worse acne in my 30/40s than I had in my teens!

Science has given us several ingredients that effectively prevent and treat acne,  but many of them aren’t safe during pregnancy. To the rescue comes Belli Skin Care with two first trimester must-haves:  Anti-Blemish Facial Wash and Acne Control Spot Treatment.

Like all Belli products, they are screened to eliminate any and all ingredients shown in clinical studies to have even the remotest connection to birth defects or other problems of pregnancy. Belli is picky for a purpose:  to give you peace of mind. They believe in a higher standard for prenatal safety in the cosmetic skin care industry. They search through millions of published medical research articles to see if an ingredient has ever been linked to birth defects. If it has, they replace it with a safer ingredient instead. A medical director oversees Belli's exclusive teratology screening process. So that means that all their products are not only allergy tested. but are Paraben Free, with no artificial dyes or fragrances. Which means, no matter if you are pregnant or not, these products are GOOD for you and do their job!

Anti-Blemish Face Wash

Anti-Blemish Face Wash Anti-Blemish Face Wash 2 pure face wash leaves skin clear and refined, without over-drying or irritation. Lactic acid (found naturally in the body) gently and effectively cleanses and exfoliates acne prone skin. While it's Lemon peel oil is a natural anti-bacterial and skin brightener. And its Green tea extract and cucumber are rich in antioxidants, besides giving it an amazing smell! It is FREE of salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide-common acne fighting ingredients that can result in over-drying and irritation, and should be avoided during pregnancy. You only need to use it twice a day (as a wash or mask) to start seeing a change in your skin, as it cleans out those clogged folicles and clears the bacteria way! Plus it leaves your skin glowing! I LOVE this cleanser- your face feels so fresh and cleaner after using it, that you know it is working!

Acne Control Spot Treatment
Acne Control Spot Treatment - this treatment
Acne Control Spot Treatment 2reduces the severity of acne blemishes by using colloidal sulfur, tea tree oil and chamomile. It penetrates pores to help control acne blemishes and keep skin clear of new breakouts. FREE OF salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and benzoyl peroxide-common acne fighting ingredients that can result in over-drying and irritation and should be avoided during pregnancy, It is absorbed quickly and is non-greasy.  To be the most effective, you should wash your face first with the Anti-Blemish Face Wash, and then apply this treatment with a thin layer, one to three times a day. Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two to three times daily if needed. You can also use it as spot treatment, to dry out solitary pimples.

I recently had a MAJOR reaction my natural foundation with SPF (which used to be fine, but suddenly hormonal reaction, oh JOY!), and the result was a acne breakout that rivaled those of any teenager, thanks to my pre-menopausal hormones. Thanks so much! LOL. By using these 2 products for 3 days,  the acne mot only dried up, but it restored my skin to a much healthier look and feel! Whew!  So I can attest just how well these products work for women of ANY age!

Miss Grace already asked me if she should start using it (pre-puberty rearing its ugly head) and I'm having her wash her face with the wash a couple of times per week, as she has already started with some subtle irritation! I know the product is safe, so it's great having one product we both can use! I really can't recommend these products enough for how well, and quickly, they work!
