I know EXACTLY what you just said...

WHAT in the world is Kombucha?

You think it's might be something healthy? Maybe?

Kombucha is a fermented, bubbly cold tea packed with probiotics and antioxidants.

Health Ade Kombucha is ONLY made from the ingredients above! If you weren't aware, Scoby s actually shorthand for:Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast. Which means that when added to the tea and sugar, that yeast and bacteria feed on it, and produce the probiotic based tea that is Kombucha! AHA!

Health-Ade's new Super-Tea Kombucha line, infuses raw organic kombucha with natural botanical super foods, like grapes, that are high in beneficial vitamins/minerals, for a quite tasty drink that is GOOD for you!

What is SO great about the Health-Ade Super Kombucha teas isn't just what is in them though- it's HOW they are made, that makes them SO good for you, health wise.

To make the teas, only fresh raw organic produce is used and it is hand-crafted the "old-fashioned way", aka the way nature intended, in small batches (only 2.5 gallons at a time, just like you would at home) in an all-glass process, to ensure no plastic/metal leaching, The batches are then allowed to ferment naturally (no speeding up the process!), to allow for premium quality and flavor. There are never any fake fermentation agents, flavorings, or chemicals used!  Which means that these teas are not only gluten-free, but also vegan and organic! Did I hear and "OOOOOO"?

This attention to detail results in a delicious bubbly feel-good beverage that is naturally low in caffeine, sugar, and calories! And did I mention KID friendly? Yup- Miss Grace LOVES it, even better than soda (which she only gets now and then)! She would drink the whole bottle if I let her! Thanks to the fermentation process, it makes sense, as you get a bubbly tea, that is reminiscent of carbonation, but is nature's recipe! But with 2 servings per bottle, I try to limit her to 1 serving a day! She adores the Pink Lady Apple and California Grape flavors. I have to admit the Apple flavor is perfect for a refreshing drink on a hot Summer day, and makes a great addition when added to pink lemonade for a fruity refresher! To me the Grape flavor tastes just like sparkling grape juice!

Though I have to admit my favorite flavor has to Pomegranate! I LOVE to mix it with my regular black tea for a great drink, that not only gives you a pick me up mid-morning, it lasts all morning long for renewed energy! And it helps any food you're eating to digest better! I also found adding the regular, unflavored to my morning shake is a great way to amp up the nutritional value!

There are 9 flavors of Health-Ade Kombucha Super Teas. Our local store only carries the 6 flavors that sell well. They didn't have Beet, Carrot or Plum (which I really wanted to try). We didn't try the Ginger Lemon, as neither of us like ginger. But 2 of the cashiers who were checking it out swore by the Ginger Lemon as a great alternative to soda. We also didn't try the Cayenne Cleanse, because honestly, we get enough cayenne daily in our diet (as we live in Louisiana) and because it has ginger as well.

At first the taste might seem a little 'cidery' to you- that is the yeast talking. It's the same smell if you make your own sourdough starter for example, or your own beer. After the initial drink, you no longer really smell it, as your taste buds are too busy enjoying the flavors! Which is another reason to add the original, unflavored, to another drink, as it might be too 'yeasty' for some (like kids). To be honest, I wasn't sure Miss Grace would take to the drink, but since we had her on the Gluten Free diet, she can tell when she's had too much processed/processed sugar in her diet and she now enjoys healthier drinks like this, and making her own smoothies (another great use for the original flavor).

Since we started drinking the Health-Ade Kombucha, both Miss Grace and I have had less intestional issues! Especially if she is eating less veggies and fruits, the Kombucha Tea really helps her nutritionally too! And that is ALWAYS a good thing!

Kombusha super tea popsicle 1

Course it's Summer, so there is one thing you HAVE to do.....make popsicles with your favorite drink! The good news is that you CAN freeze Kombucha, as you still get the health benefits from it, just not quite as much.

So what we've done is let Miss Grace have her one serving, then take the rest and added some blueberries and strawberries (more anti-oxidants and vitamins!), to make a perfectly cool, healthy, yummy Summer treat! As you can see, when you combine strawberries, a touch of grape and pomegranate Kombucha, you get a light rose colored popsicle, that is SO good! Hint for the adults- you can add some f your favorite liquor and liqueurs too, or just make a frosty drink with the Health-Ade Kombucha Tea too!

You can get Health-Ade Kombucha Super Teas at your local Fresh market, Whole Foods, or
>stores. Just check their store locator for one nearest you! Do keep in mind that the teas need to be kept refrigerated, to keep your live probiotics ticking! They come in the dark colored UV-sensitive amber glass bottles to keep the probiotics safe as well, so if you are giving to younger kids, you may want to pour into another drop-proof container. Miss Grace is already starting to come with ideas to recycle the jars into works of art!

Health-Ade was founded by a husband, wife, and their best friend, all looking to make the best tasting & highest quality kombucha you could buy for your family, while pioneering how to market it on a large scale, without succumbing to market pressures, and changing how it is processed and compromising quality. We'd say they have succeeded VERY well!

Health-Ade Kombucha is going to be on our Summer drinking list, and it should be on yours too!
