Did you know that today,  only 28% of dinners include a vegetable?

And that only about one in every 10 Americans eats enough fruits and vegetables?

Add to that stat, that 60 Years Ago, the average dinnertime was 90 minutes.
And today it is less than 12 minutes.

So how about spending LESS time cooking a HEALTHY dinner, full of veggies (and fruit), and MORE time at the table together?

Thanks to Birds Eye, you can do JUST that!

Last year, Birds Eye helped get little ones to eat their veggies with a line Steamfresh vegetables with Disney character shaped pasta. This year, they’ve expanded the line to convince older kids, in the 6-11 age group, and even the grown-ups, to eat better, too!

From a nutrition standpoint, there is little to no difference between fresh and frozen vegetables.

For example, at Birds Eye, they flash freeze their veggies within FOUR hours after harvest, locking in peak freshness, nutrients, taste, and color, so you get that fresh from the farm taste and nutritional goodness. Which means they are a super choice for including veggies into your kids' dinner!

The new products includes:

birds eye disney steamfresh packs

  • Avengers shaped whole grain pasta & peas in butter sauce
  • R2D2 shaped pasta & green beans in marinara sauce
  • Spiderman shaped pasta & broccoli in yellow cheese sauce
  • Yoda shaped pasta & broccoli in white cheese sauce

  • birds eye disney steamfresh spiderman pack

Can you guess which pack this is?

    Yup- Spiderman!
The pasta in the Steamfresh packs is shaped like the character off the front of the package!

Miss Grace declared the combination of pasta, cheesy sauce and broccoli VERY yummy! Now she loves broccoli, but just started liking COOKED broccoli, but she was all about this fun side dish! It's a great way to introduce cooked broccoli to your kids, plus assure that they get a good dose of Vitamin C! Did you know one recent study showed that there may be more vitamin C in a stalk,or florets, of raw broccoli than in an orange? And if steamed, it is easier for our bodies to digest broccoli and to absorb that Vitamin C, along with Vitamin aA, multiple Bs. D, and K, along with minerals like magnesium and folate!

So when you give your family Bird's Eye Steamfresh Disney packs with broccoli, you're giving your family a healthy end to the day, and a great way to help their immune system!

Birds Eye is working to help families reach the goal of at least one veggie with every meal, by coming up with different Steamfresh products that encourage teens and adults to eat their veggies too!

    Bird's Eye Steamfresh packs

Birds Eye now provides families with more than 40 unique vegetable blends year round at affordable prices, so you can mix up your meal ideas all year!  Check out their newest 2 lines:

Flavor Full- Veggies tossed with seasonings like Buffalo, Ranch, Chili and Sriracha, for added flavor!

Protein Blends-  fruits and veggies come together with pasta or rice for unique flavor blends, like Hawaiian, Thai, Southwest, Tuscan and Californian, to add interest and fun to your meal!

Steamfresh Rice Blends- veggies mix with rice or grains for unique blends that are perfect for using in recipes, or as side dishes!

We checked out the Hawaiian blend (A blend of whole grains, shelled edamame, carrots, pineapple and white beans with a pineapple ginger sauce) and were quite impressed with the flavor! As you can see we added it to baked chicken, salad and a Hawaiian style roll, for a quick dinner, but one that had plenty of flavor and nutritional value! You can check out the Birds Eye website for recipes, where you can incorporate the Birds Eye Steamfresh packs into new dishes too!

One caveat- the Steamfresh packs ARE small- they only have 2, maybe 3 servings per bag (with the exception of the Flavorful Family Size bags of veggie basics). So you may need 2 bags, depending on the size of your family. The Steamfresh packs take under 5 minutes to cook, leaving your veggies with their nutritional goodness and flavor, and allow you to cook the rest of dinner, and then have less clean up after, so you CAN spend more time together as a family eating together and sharing about your day! And that is precious indeed!

So take back dinner with Birds Eye and
