Synopsis:

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace.

He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance.

You might not want to like them, but you do.

You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.

Review:

Be prepared to NOT be able to stop reading this book once you start, which in a way is surprising, as the author gives away the entire story in the beginning. Yet.... Once the story starts in ernest, the action just propels you along, and even though you KNOW what's coming, you can't move. Sort of like a car accident in front of you. The human need to know all, strikes, and you can't help put to turn the pages! It;s also human nature to see the best in people, until proven otherwise. But as you start reading this book, you know things aren't right, and part of your brain will be wondering why no one around Jack and Grace don't see it either. But that is the kernel of the story- how the human mind can make excuses and tell itself lies, in order to NOT see, what is in front of it. As such, the book could easily be a Lifetime movie, with all its drama. The book is the perfect end of Summer, last read by the beach read!
