Review:

"This book gives you a history of whiskey, how it is made, why is it whiskey or whiskey and how the aging process is the key, before it gets into the actual whiskeys from around the world. Sections are devoted to North America, Scotland, Ireland, Japan and the rest of the world! If you have never really thought about how whiskey is made, the first section is really interesting and breaks down the process with lots of great comments about the differences between how rules and regulations affect how whiskey is made.

This book gives history of each distillery, and for the more famous ones, additional info on them, along with some pretty amazing color photos. The book also shows the different primary whiskeys offered, and noted the flavor differences and ages. No whiskey is denoted as better than another- rather you find out which ones are taking the International Whiskey awards. The book then lets you make up your mind as to which whiskey you want to check out."

And that is where the Tasting Book comes in! You get a brief how to on tasting whiskey, when 97 slots for tasting different whiskies and adding a photo or the label, much like you get in a wine tasting book. It is a hardback book, with great photos interspersed with the tasting notes, to give you a book that would be at home on your coffee table. This isn't a book to hide away, but to show off!

This is a great box set, perfect for holiday gift giving for friends and family, or for a host or boss present! Add one of the bottles of whiskey from the book, and you have a great gift that can start off a great hobby!
