Book Review: The Witch Who Couldn't Spell by Katie Penryn

And now for the perfect Halloween book for the weekend!!

It is the first in a new series  too!

Synopsis:

Mpenzi Munro has recently been called to the bar in London when a mysterious parcel is delivered to her family house in Notting Hill Gate.It has been sent by her father's lawyers and contains his Last Will and Testament. Mpenzi is to move her two younger brothers to her father's house in Beaucoup-sur-mer, France. An unpleasant surprise awaits them in their new garden and puts their newly found mother at risk.

Review:

This book is what I would describe as a 'lark'. it's fluffy, funny, sweet and a quick read! Think of it like a teen witch novel for YA or adults who like light reading. I finished it in one night, as it's such a page turner. Mpenzi is very relatable as a girl who had to mature and take on responsibility she was ready for, and now that  she can let go, isn't quite ready, as there are too many changes in her life.

The witch part is dealt lightly with, and it is only for good. There is a shape shifter that comes into the story as well. but it is all light and perfect for a Halloween read. if you want something appropriate for the holiday weekend, this is the book for you!
