Our previous post dealt with man made music, but this post deals with nature's music BIRDS!
Thee new PBS Kids Look and Learn Birds Set offers your kids the change to get OUTSIDE and seek the beauty and wonder of God's creations, thanks to a handy pair of child-size binoculars! The included helpful book can help any child take a great nature walk and become a a bird-watching pro along the way!
This delightful kit comes with:
• a 64-page bird book
• a pair of easy-to-use binoculars
• a portable laminated list of common North American birds
• an activity poster that encourages observation and creativity
As you can see the bird book gives gets pictures that help them to easily identify different birds they see, along with helpful characteristics.
Then it also gives help on silhouettes. Miss Grace was finishing up her bird unit when the set came in, so she had to give it a thorough testing:
"I really like the book-it helped me figure out if a bird in a tree was a sparrow or a nuthatch. The binoculars aren't super good like the professional ones that Grandpa gave me, but they're much better than ones that normally come in kits for kids. I like the poster-I'm going to put it up in my room, and mark off all the birds I've seen and the ones I still need to! I think kids ages 5 through 10 would like it".
I have to agree with her. It's a great set, but I would put the age group and more of 6-9 years, but it would also be a great set for a teacher to have for their classroom, or for use while homeschooling. It's the perfect educational, but FUN gift for giving this holiday season!
