Recipe for a Younger Mind?

If you are worried about misplacing your wallet, forgetting where you parked your car, or getting your friend's birthday wrong, you're not alone. The most common worry of people is memory loss. A recent study by Newcastle University, featured on BBC news, showed that art therapy has greater benefits than puzzles and exercises when it comes to improving memory function. Engaging the brain in new and creative ways may be the key to a sharper, younger mind.

Which means, you aren't JUST coloring, your actually keeping your mind focused, and your memory sharp.

Not to mention, coloring can produce a great feeling of calm. Combine all that and you HAVE a recipe for a younger mind!

This new book takes coloring  beyond it's calming and de-stressing qualities. The 90 intricate line drawings of animals help to enhance your brain's cognitive function through art therapy techniques. Train your brain and enhance your memory as you copy and complete outlines, doodle in the gaps, and progress to forming your own artistic designs. Line by line, heal your mind, boost your creativity, and improve your cognitive function as you fill in the pages with art and color.

As a passionate advocate of art therapy and graduate of Royal Holloway, bestselling illustrator Anastasia Catris is urging everyone to go beyond the recent calm coloring craze and train your brain as you copy, complete and color a series of animal creations in her book!

Review:

As you can see from the designs above, there are many different designs, that allow for lots and lots of customization by you. You can do the old mirror image' illustration, or you can alter your design as you see ft. Which ever way you decide, your mind in creating and searching for new ways of coloring, helping to keep it young. Many of the designs can be altered for holiday use as well, as you can see above! I couldn't resist changing the dogs into Louisiana Spring Poodles! LOL.

This is a fun book and one that is perfect for gift giving this Valentine's Day, with a set of colored pencil and/or pens, to your Mom, Sister, or bestie! Or keep it for yourself!  It's a super way to relax and help your brain!
