The 2017 Housewares Design Awards honoring products offering design innovation and new ways for improving everyday living were presented at a Gala awards ceremony during the Winter Las Vegas Market recently. Trudeau Corporation’s Silicone Round Cake Pan with an integrated steel frame took top honors in the Cookware and Bakeware category. So when the chance came around the check out this uniquely designed pan in person, I eagerly said "YES!"!

What makes the pan so new and unique, other than is trendy color scheme?

Yes, you're seeing the breakdown correctly! The pan's unique designs features a reinforced steel rim, to give it not only a sturdy frame to transfer it easily from prep surface to oven, to table, but also to hold its shape and form, DURING the baking process.  I don't know about you, but that has been a HUGE issue for me and why I haven't liked using silicone baking pans in the past. And yes I said past, because thanks to this new pan, my mind is TOTALLY changed! You can feel the difference when you pick up the pan empty. It just feels more substantial and well, 'safe'. You feel confident that whatever you put into it, will STAY in it!

Not only is this 9” round baking pan heat resistant up to 428°F (220°C),  freezer, microwave and dishwasher safe, it allows your baked goods to cook evenly, to brown better and release from the pans while easily EVERY time!

The instructions for use of the pan are very simple- just butter and fill! The coffee cake is a tad harder, LOL Check out the first recipe we used in the pan:

easy coffee cake

Ingredients:
Streusel
1/3 cup dry biscuit mix
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons firm butter or margarine

Coffee Cake
2 cups biscuit mix
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Sugar
1 egg

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 375°F.
 2. Make sure the pan is properly buttered.
 3. In small bowl, combine all the streusel ingredients until crumbly (whether by hand or with a fork for best results), set aside.
4. In medium bowl, mix coffee cake ingredients until blended. Spread in pan.
5. Sprinkle half of streusel over top and use a teaspoon to mix into dough in swirl pattern. Then take the rest of streusel and place on top. Note I like to double the streusel recipe, as we like it mixed into the cake and on top, but you can use just half, or place it all on top, your choice!
6. . Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown

7. Let pan cool about 10 minutes (you won't even need potholders to hold the rim!),  then invert onto a plate or board and pull out, then up on handles.
BAMM- your cake releases perfectly EVERY time!

Isn't that the most amazing thing???

And it took me all of about 2 seconds to wash it clean by hand!

The wire frame really makes a difference! No more having to put your cake pan on a cookie sheet to keep it level and from sloshing over! And as well as this cake pan releases, making layer cakes just got a WHOLE lot easier! The 9 inch size is perfect for all your baking needs! I've used it to bake brownies and a pineapple upside down cake (both of which I forgot to take pictures of!), and both came out super easy. In fact, I'll be buying another one of these pans, for all our cake needs!

Trudeau’s Round Cake Pan is one of eight cake, cookie and muffin pans integrated with Trudeau’s exclusive reinforced steel rims, for secure handling and Supra Silicone, a patented, seamless manufacturing process providing a flexible non-stick, easy release surface. I'm fixating on their pie and muffin pans too! Check them out and take YOUR holiday baking to new levels this year- after all Easter IS right around the corner!
