We haven't had a Mailbox Tuesday post in YEARS!
Why?
Because the 'samples' tended to be full size and on a review schedule, aka I knew what I was getting.
But part of the FUN in getting samples, is not knowing what IS coming!
Which is why the e Daily Goodie Box is so much FIN!
And even if I do know what might be included, I like to ignore that email and wait to see what is actually in the box! It's like getting a surprise present every month, and we can all use that type of fun, right?
This month's box had something for everyone!
Let's start with the favorites:
JustChill - Stress Relief Drinks -Just Chill Beverages are powered by a unique amino acid called SunTheanine, a “nootropic” or functional supplement that enhances cognitive function. BUT SunTheanine is also the only clinically studied and patented form of L-theanine you can get your hands on. L-Theanine is an unique amino acid found in green tea, has been shown to help improve performance by reducing stress and increasing focus without causing drowsiness. One can of Just Chill has 15X the amount of L-Theanine found in a single cup of green tea!
We were sent the Jamaican Citrus blend to try (there are 4 flavors, Tropical, Ginger and Rio Berry, being the other 3). I wish I had an IV of this stuff for the kid! With puberty starting, mood swings are killing the entire household, LOL. I had her try half the drink before her weekly extensive dance class, and not only was she more focused, she was SO calm, she was in the Zen zone. She finished it up at break and the rest of the class just FLEW. Even though she had had a LONG day, she had no attention gaps, and was ready to lead every dance! Now I just have to find it locally (and stock by the pickup truck full...)! Hands down, BEST sample of the box!
Nellie's All-Natural - Laundry Soda Packs= Nellie’s laundry soda is unscented and designed to penetrate fabric, as well as to remove odors, not mask them, like typical commercial detergeants do. Nellie’s rinses clear and leaves no residue, thanks to its coconut based (LAURYL) Ethoxylated fatty alcohol primer. Coconut oil on its own will wash nothing. It is therefore chemically modified so that it becomes surface active and thus performs like a detergent. It is readily biodegradable, non toxic and mild and efficient. It is also NOT Petroleum based. Additional natural ingredients include Sodium Carbonate (also known as washing soda). In domestic use, it’s used as a water softener during laundry, Sodium Metasilicate (which enhances the cleaning efficiency by inactivating water hardness, and Sodium Chloride (aka common salt!). In fact, all of Nellie's products in fact are biodegradable. non-toxic, hypoallergenic, gluten free, nor contain no SLS or SLES or GMO’s. They are chlorine, phosphate, dye, paraben, ammonia, formaldehyde and septic free, and are free of any animal testing (Leaping Bunny Certified)! And this detergeant WORKS! The small sample pack included enough for 15 )!!) loads of laundry,, using it's included itty bitty scoop. But let me tell you, that scoop? It worked 10 times better than the commercial soap! Everything came out smelling NEW and CLEAN!
Nellie's Wow Stain Remover Stick- talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing! This little stick looks like it can't do anything, but man can it take out stains like a pro! Derived from natural ingredients that do not contain dyes or synthetic fragrances, the WOW Stick contains lemongrass and sweet orange oils that also work in combination with the cleansing ingredients to combat odors caused by the offending stain. To remove a stain you just wet the WOW Stick and rub gently onto the stain, agitate the stain under water and launder as directed. It worked no matter what I threw at it the first time! I am uber impressed, and have a new stain treater in the house!
Vermont Smoke & Cure - Cracked Pepper Beef & Pork Sticks- Crafted with lean beef and pork, cracked pepper and a classic mix of spices for nourishing real meat protein that satisfies any snack craving you're having, while giving you some great tasting energy! Available in 8 and 24 individually wrapped box sizes, these are the snacks for everybody in the family! Available in 8 different flavors, they also have summer sausage and pepperoni too! This is another must buy for the next shopping trip!
XyliChew - Spearmint (not pictured)- available in 6 flavors, it is made with no chemicals or artificial sweeteners, Xylichew promotes a healthier mouth, and is safe for those with diabetes and many food allergies. Made with birch xylitol it is sugar free and may help reduce tooth decay by killing bacteria in your mouth. Making it a great substitute if you can't brush your teeth after a meal. We don't actually chew gum in our house, due to the past teeth issues Miss Grace had, it was easier to keep it away, so she wouldn't be tempted (and kill her dental work). So to me the flavor seemed rather strong, but my mouth did feel cleaner, so i would say it works great!
Gorilly Goods - Organic Snacks- available in 7 all natural combinations, we were sent the Forrest pack to check out. It contains Organic Fair Trade Bananas, Organic Fair Trade Raw 70% Dark Chocolate, Organic Raisins, Organic Cashews, Organic Walnuts, Organic Pecans, Organic Coconut, Organic Coconut Nectar and Sea Salt. All great proteins to curb any snack attack. If not for the banana, this would have been the favorite out of the box. But we just don't like banana dried, so the taste put us off. But it was chewy and the dark chocolate is amazing!
Jack N' Jill - Natural Toothpaste- we actually reviewed the Jack N Jill oral care sets a few months back. Once again, we received Black Currant (it's apparently a odds on fav, but it is available in 4 other flavors), and Miss Grace was happy to retest it for me! Fluoride Free, Sugar Free, Colour Free, SLS Free, No Artificial Preservatives, Gluten Free, This kids toothpaste contains xylitol and calendula for natural cleaning and killing of tooth decay causing bacteria naturally! Once again she gave it a thumbs up for cleaning and taste, and she's REALLY picky about her toothpaste!
Dream Water - Sleep Powder- another product I need a huge tank of is this powder! This natural s;eep powder contains GABA (claming amino protein), 5-HTP (natural serotonin) and Melatonin to help you fall asleep fast and STAY asleep. I'm happy to say it worked like a charm on the kid! I just gave her half a pack in 2 oz of water, and within 15 minutes she was out cold! YEAH! She has such a hard time falling asleep, that melantonin has been a nightly routine. But with this powder I can add the GABA and she can fall asleep faster! You can take it straight, or with hot or cold water, 30 minutes before bed Then when you crawl into bed, you're out! We're sold and will be picking up the 5 pack, to have for when we travel!
Nature's Bakery - Raspberry Fig Barsrs - I actually had just bought some Nature;s bakery brownie bites when the box came in, so I was already familiar with this brand.This fig bar is made with stone ground wheat, cane syrup, raspberries, apple powder and oats, for a natural, good for you snack bar that packs a protein punch! Flavor wise, we both found it a bit on the bland side (like the brownies), but it's excellent for on the go goodness, thanks to being soy, dairy and cholesterol free, containing no artificial colors or flavors and no High Fructose Corn Syrup. There are 9 different flavors of the stone ground fig bars.
Coffee Blocks - Butter Coffee- To make a Coffee Block, knead packet, squeeze the packet into a mug, add 12 - 16 oz of water (our favorite is 2-4 oz of room temp, and 10-12 oz of hot water), and mix. It's the fastest way to make butter coffee. Each packet contains 1 serving worth of grass fed clarified butter, organic virgin coconut oil, organic vanilla extract, organic egg yolk and and mycotoxin free COFFEE! Now that might not sound yummy, but let me tell you, YES it is! I would have rated it higher up on the fav list, for being able to have a SUPER great cup of coffee on the go, but it is pretty pricey. BUMMED.
