As you can see, the blocks in this wonderful sampler greatly vary! You have traditional patterns like the pieced star, and traditional applique, like the Hawaiaan block and also new modern blocks, like the Oriole! There is a block for everyone here! In fact, it would be fun to ring this book to a 'Sew the Stash' party, where everybody brings their scraps and leftovers and picks a block to sew up during the party. Then combine the blocks for an unique quilt, that could be given to a women's shelter, Habit for Humanity new homeowner, or even a Cancer patient. The possibilities are just as endless as the designs in this book! You can find the one block you want to make into a large quilt, or the many blocks you want to combine! But the instructions and blocks are laid out so easily, that even beginners will have no problem following along!

I have always LOVED the look of a red, white and blue quilt, or quilted runner. There is something just RIGHT about the color combination! This book is a great way to take small prints that you might have picked up in scrap packs, or small squares, and use them to their color advantage to make a fun quilt panel for the holidays (Memorial Day and the 4th of July will be here before you know it!), or to use them to make a classic quilt that will be handed down for generations! Either way, the patterns will bring a smile to your face, for their cheerfulness, and like the Splendid Sampler book, the instructions are easy to follow, thanks to color coding and clear instructions! It's another great book that will having you cooking up quilts to keep and give away in no time!
