So Summer is officially here and I would bet that you might ALREADY be hearing those 2 dreaded words...."i'm BORED"!
So Summer is officially here and I would bet that you might ALREADY be hearing those 2 dreaded words...."i'm BORED"!
Sigh...
Gonna be a LONG 2 months isn't it? (and on that note, if Summer vacation is getting reduced to 2 months for kids in school, why not just switch to year round and dump the brain dump issues???? Just sayin'....)
So when your teen, or creative younger child screams that, I have a great book that can urge their creativity into a new avenue, that might just open up a new way to earn money over the Summer!
Synopsis:
Hand Lettering A to Z is a fun, hands-on book in which artist and calligrapher Abbey Sy presents her creative lettering and invites artists from several countries to contribute alphabets of their own--all unique, all hand drawn. Each alphabet is paired with a collection of phrases to show readers different ways to use the lettering and have fun with it in different languages, including French, Spanish, Irish, Swedish, Portuguese, and more. Readers can use the phrases when making cards, gifts, or embellishing their journals. And unlike calligraphy, hand lettering does not require disciplined study. Hand-drawn lettering is meant to be personal and original, so even beginners can dive in!
Review:
Oh my! This book is such eye candy for the crafter! You might just find yourself fighting with your teen over using this book to take your crafting to a new level!
The alphabets shown are AMAZINGLY EASY to replicate, and having them all together really helps you to understand how they work together. you're not looking at 1 or 2 sample illustrations and trying to figure out what different letters are! Rather, you get it all, as you can see! Which means you can easily use this book to make anything you want. teens may just find a great way to buy dollar craft frames or signs, decorate and sell for 10 times the cost, to earn money without having to babysit! teens will also love how the different alphabets reflect their personalities and you might just find them on every blank sheet of paper, or folder in your house! THIS is a book you'll refer to over and over during the whole YEAR! It just might be the go-to book for all your crafting needs, for you and your teen! So grab a copy, some pens and colored pencils, and settle the 'I'm Boreds", with a little creativity and a craft that just might improve their penmanship along the way (score!!). We can't recommend this book enough!
