This week I've got a couple of books and kits that are SUPER for family learning,
and to keep the 'I'm Boreds" at bay,
OR even better, to give YOU a creative outlet!
Who says Summer fun is only for the kids?
Synopsis:
Dangles are a beautiful and whimsical new art form for people who love coloring and tangles. By adding charms and pretty embellishments to letters and artwork, you can make your own dangles. With 50 projects in the book, you can add stunning patterns and color to dangles, personalize your dangles with charms that are unique to you, and create dangle words from the dangle alphabet in the book. Dangles are a perfect way to accentuate your stationary, invitations, lettering, and more.
Review:
I LOVE this book! So fr, the art books from Quatro have been SO amazing, but I think this one might just be my favorite! If you love lettering AND doodling, then this is the perfect combination of both, which gives YOU some serious creativity outletness!
The book not only contains each letter of the alphabet in capital and lower case forms, it shows them in black and white, and color! Then they give you words, also colored and not. Then there is the glossary of dangles, by shapes and theme, that make you rethink your doodling! Add in some fun corner pieces and suddenly you have an amazing reference book that walks you literally through all the steps! You get over 50 projects in the book! You can use your newfound art for bookmarks, envelopes, cards and more! The book shows you how you can use the different elements together, as well. Here's what I did for a friend:
She adores birds and daisies, and is always telling people to fly, so I pulled all the different elements together, and make a bookmark. I forgot to take a picture of the finished mark, where I added a little washi tape to the edges for color and durability. All in all, the bookmark only took me about an hour from start to finish, and including drying time for the markers.
This is another FUN book, that the entire family will love, and we highly recommend it!
About the Author:
Art has been Olivia A. Kneibler's bliss since she was a very young girl. She majored in fine art in college and then went on to create illustrations for greeting cards, invitations, promotional materials, fabric, figurines, and even plush teddy bears. After years of working with different companies like Gibson Greetings, DecoArt, Leisure Arts, and more, she decided she would start working for herself and opened Olivia and Company, where she began drawing and doodling her popular dangles (and where you can get more dangle inspiration!)
