Cold brew is a pretty popular popular coffee beverage, especially down here in the Souther where we love our coffee, but with 96 degree heat and 85% humidity, you need something COLD!

Unless you are willing to spend a fortune at a coffee shop, or grocery store, for ready-to-drink cold brew, you normally you have to remember to prepare your own at home at least 24 hours in advance.
UGH.

Making cold brew used to be a messy and frustrating process.
Now, you can make single serve cold brew in the same cup you drink it out of with Dripo

Dripo is a travel cold brew system that can be used at home, the office, even at the beach. Divided into 2 sections, the bottom is atumbler for the iced coffee to fall into, topped with a coffee holder, with stainless steel embedded gilter. The top section is where you put ice and water. The top cover also doubles as the top for your go cup of iced coffee!

The water drips through the coffee layer into the tumbler at the bottom, and in about two hours a cup of cold brew is ready.  Well yes, and no,.In 2 hours you have the amount of coffee you see above. The ice still had not melted and it took another 2 1/2 hours for it to finish. No I imagine if you were outside at the beach, it might only take 2 hours, due to heat. But theoretically, the Dripo  brews at 45 drips per minute, which should make 10oz in 2 hours.

The coffee filter sits on top of the grounds and spreads the water more evenly over the grounds, they aren't required, but definitely make a difference!

As you can see the coffee is VERY dark! I actually found it was more inline with espresso, due to the amount of coffee (just over an ounce, 30 grams), versus water used. For me, drinking it straight was not an option. So I found that treating it as espresso and adding it to the way I regularly make iced coffee was actually PEREFECT, and a recreation of any coffee house iced coffee drink.

You can get some GREAT iced coffee recipes in fact, on the Dripo website!

Overall, the Dripo is a great idea if you want iced coffee AWAY from home, and have 2-4 hours to wait for it. I will definitely be using it on our away trips!
