Yup= that's right- it not only can add a pop of color to your too tired face, but just putting it on gives you a mental lift- " I can take on the world today!" !
If you haven't heard about Red Gate Beauty and their amazing Lipsense lipsticks before, you have been out of the loop! I had seen them on a couple of blogs, but just hadn't gotten around to trying them. So when the opportunity came to check them out, I was THRILLED!
Lipsense isn't your traditional lipstick! LipSense is a non-wax liquid lip color that stays on your skin, much like a stain. ONLY it is waterproof, smudge proof AND non-drying. In fact, after just a couple of uses, your lips may be in the best shape ever, thanks to the way it RESTORES moisture to your lips! And it also functions as a sun barrier, keeping harmful rays from damaging your lips too! Oh and did I mention it can last for 18 hours? Now you may only get 4, but you COULD get 18, depending on what you are doing, and your bodies ph balance (some people's break apart the molecules of the base quicker)!
LipSense is initially sold as a set, which includes LipSense Liquid Lip Color, a moisturizing Gloss, and an Ooops!™ Remover. The remover is needed, as it uses a different grade of alcohol to remover the product, which is better for you. There are 40 Lipsense base colors to choose from- in warn, cool and neutral shades. Then you can pick any of the 10 over glosses and any of 6 colors for lip liners! It was really hard to pick a set! There are so many colors perfect for fall! I eventually went with Fire-n-ice, which is more a a cool darker mauve frost, that looked like it would be perfect for day wear for fall and winter, and decided on the Opal Gloss, which seemed more reflective than glittery and too bright, as you can see above, and here on me:
I was actually VERY impressed with how LONG it lasted! It literally lasted all 12 hours of work, with only one touch up of gloss, after lunch. The bottom color layer never wavered! It is odd the first time you put the color on, as your lips tingle, and you think "oh, oh", but that is just the denatured alcohol setting the pigment and then evaporating off your lips. It goes away pretty quickly, and that is when you apply the gloss. As long as you apply the coats correctly, you get the all day color!
i really put it to the test at the recent Irish Fest, when I wore it ALL day in 95 degree heat, with 80% humidity. Trust me, if it would fail, THAT was the day!
As you can see, in the full sun, at the end of the day, it was more corally, than mauve, which it IS supposed to be! I noticed it did this more when the gloss wasn't full. And I probably should have reapplied gloss about an hour beforehand, but we were busy with the feis (dance competition), and I didn't think to do so. So the undercolor comes through more, which gives you an idea of how the gloss can change the base color- perfect for day to night, while wearing the same under Lipsense!
Overall I was VERY impressed with how long the Lipsense LASTS, and how the color actually doesn't bleed, like normal lipstick does on me, without liner! I am SOLD and now need to decide on another set, with a different gloss. based on how well the coral did, I;m thinking more of a red for winter, like Blu-Red, or a deep Plum, or the neutral Bella. Hmmm....decisions, decisions! LOL They even have Blackberry for Halloween! If you check out their Facebook page, you can see models wearing the different colors, and you might have too many choices too! LOL
