if you've followed this blog for long, you KNOW I have a kid who is adventurous and has a passion for being on the edge....
Especially when it comes to her HAIR!!!
So while the rest of you, and your kids, were toiling away at school,
we recently took a 'field day' and checked out a little chemistry....
The beauty of HOME SCHOOL is school can be ANYWHERE!
And on this day, Miss Grace checked out educational training at Paul Mitchell's school, for being a beautician, the math and creativity needed for getting the right cut and for mixing solutions, to get the perfect COLOR. And just how much CHEMISTRY goes into the job! Plus she had exposure to different professions, as many adults came in to get their hair worked, stopped and chatted with her!
Why?
Cause she was getting THIS done:
Now personally, we both liked the blond highlights a whole lot.
BUT, when has my child ever done anything half way
(Ok, let's NOT discuss the 14,000 Legos all over my front room this past week, right?) ?
So yes, there was a color addition needed!
Oh and yes, a little SUBTRACTION, as somebody decided to take a tangle out the old fashioned way- cutting it out! Which left her with a one inch by 2 inch piece of hair, at her nape. SIGH, with dance comp a mere 2 weeks away....
UGH....
So there was a need for a bit of a undercut, to 'clean up' the mess (and a great lecture from her stylist about NOT doing THAT again! LOL). and then they turned what was simple blue dye into a masterpiece, and made her a mermaid!
With shades of green, teal and blue, she absolutely SHIMMERS in the sun!
Best part?
They did such a great job that all the blue will be UNDER her dance wig!
HA, the judge will never know....
Naturally she declared it BEST Home School day EVER!
And of course I got Mom of the Year, for letting her have it done!
Personally, I now know how to get her to sit STILL for 4 hours, fair trade I think, LOL!
