We've been using loose charcoal powder, as I said, where I added in peppermint oil for flavor, but I had not added bentonite clay, so I was interested in trying The Magic Mud version.

The Magic Mud kit comes with a hygienic applicator, for scooping out the powder for each use, so that you don't have to put toothbrushes into the pot and cause cross contamination. BUT having said that, when you open the box, you need to open it OVER the sink, and have gloves on, as, as you can see above, there is a certain amount of spillage from the bottle. In fact, I ended up putting the powder into a different container with a sturdier seal, to keep it from coming out. I appreciate the dark container to help keep it better, but having used the powder for over a year now, we've learned that a tight seal is imperative to keeping the powder from going everywhere when you open the jar to use it.

The scoop is definitely handy, but I also wish it was a bit bigger, but then it wouldn't fit in the box. But it gives you the right amount of powder for a thorough clean. Both Miss Grace and I liked the slight minty orange flavor to the powder, for a change of pace. The powder works really great, and we both like the combination, so we'll probably keep using both products, and use the powder for a one-two weekly deep clean!
