Looking for a great Easter present for the budding photographer or art student?

This new book from Debra might be JUST the thing to spur their creativity!

Book Description:

Whenever I'm asked "which is the best camera?" I pretty much respond: "the one you have on you." In fact, most of the images in this book were taken with my cell phone simply because I always have it with me.

This is not only a book about street photography but a visual diary, or collection of quirky, unusual and sometimes just plain weird photos I've taken over the course of the last decade.
As a street photographer, I need to be an assiduous walker. My sneakers often take me to little known, hidden corners, seaweed strewn (and sometimes stinky) beaches and really cool back alleys of my rather small island city of Victoria, BC.

I've also included images of curiosities I've seen throughout my travels.
Everyone sees the world differently and this is my collection of the quirkiness that I call life.

This is an amazing book for those who love to look at greta photos, and for those starting out in photography, to teach them to see an unique photo in ANY moment!. I've reviewed Debra's books before, and the one thing that has ALWAYS caught my eye, is how she can take something simple, that you pass by every day, and find the right angle/lighting/height to suddently make it look magic, or to keep you looking. I like to call it the chldren's wisdom moment. Sometimes Miss Grace will take a photo of something that I would not have, yet she captures an unique pattern/wave/moment, because her perspective was different than mine- she is curious about everything, and it shows in her photos!

This book is a compilation of those moments, take Debra has taken, both in her native Montreal and abroad. It showcases how yes, you CAN take a great photo with your cell phone, IF you understand the perspective and framing, for making the object pop. By showing photo examples of this Debra subtly teachers the reader about what to look for, without actually telling them. It's a book that you will flip through, then come back to time and again, for more inspiration.

Add it to an Easter basket, or give it as an Easter basket to the Art student/budding photographer and you will watch their creativity bloom, as they realize the mundane can be ordinary!

About the Author / Photographer:

Debra Schoenberger aka #girlwithcamera

"My dad always carried a camera under the seat of his car and was constantly taking pictures. I think that his example, together with pouring over National Geographic magazines as a child fuelled my curiosity for the world around me.

I am a documentary photographer and street photography is my passion. Some of my images have been chosen by National Geographic as editor's favourites and are on display in the National Geographic museum in Washington, DC. I also have an off-kilter sense of humour so I'm always looking for the unusual.
