For our Bonding Bees review package, we received the Ciao Bella, Italian Date package!
The cooking element included in our box was Pizza! YEAH! The box included a cute oven mitt (no burns need apply this date night!), an adorable pizza cutter (with the word love imprinted on both sides), a jar of tomato sauce, a bag of pizza crust mix, seasoning packets and lots (and lots) of Parmessan cheese packets! The game included was a deck of Italian playing cards, to use for the game of Scopa (instructions also included!).
As my date night got cancelled (Sigh, LONG story there), we made it a family activity instead. Miss Grace helped me with the pizza, as you can see we managed to sorta get it into a heart shape (ok, so yes, it looked more like a huge foot, but we TRIED!). While it was cooking we tried our hand at Scopa (picture was from first hand, which didn't go so well. By the second we had a better grip on how to play and it was actually quite fun, once we got over the different shapes on the cards!
The pizza was actually VERY tasty! The crust was one of the BEST ones I have had from a package mix! You do need to season the sauce with one of the packets (or your own seasonings, which we did) or one of the cheese packets, which were excellent as well! We added pepperoni and mixed Italian cheese and even though it really only made enough pizza for 2, it was very filling! And it was fun to do!
The creative part of the Bonding Bees kit was painting! We received 2 5x7 flat canvases, 2 paint brushes and a set of 6 acrylic paints, in the basic colors. The included booklet included some samples, as you can see above, of paintings you can do together, that create one picture!

Since my date night was ruined, I decided we'd take the opportunity to make a family picture, with the art kit, for my mother,whose birthday was in a couple of days. It would be an unique picture, signed by da kid and myself, as well as my dad, and something she would treasure! I made up the pallet of colors for us to share (yes, you CAN make tan from yellow, purple and white! The paint set shows you how with its on mini booklet!), and then everybody took a different section to paint, with a theme that carried over to both canvases.While we were painting we also checked out the fun facts about Italy that were included (did you know Lillies are the national flower of Italy? We didn't either!) and learning love words and phrases in Italian that also were in the booklet!
How'd we do?
Not gonna hang in a gallery, but Mom LOVED it, and that was what mattered. Plus we had a lot of fun painting it TOGETHER!
Bonding Bees has Three levels of subscriptions include: Curious (month to month), Crushing (3 months), and Committed (6 months), so you can have a short term commitment if you want it, or a longer period!
