I LOVE this book! Yarnell gives the beginner acrylic artist some really great advice on picking the right tools, then starting to prep your canvas. Then he takes the artist through the steps he uses, including paint colors and strokes, to achieve the results, which are then also shown. It really IS like having someone right there with you, leading through maling an amazing painting! For the beginner, seeing the steps from beginning to end, it is a confidence builder, that any landscape IS achieveable! I really learned a LOT about underlighting and placing highlights properly. Additionally, I learned some gerat color mixing techiniques that I did not know, in order to achieve more complex colors! The book is perfect for beginners and intermediate artists alike, and even those who are very proficient may find some interesting tidbuts to learn! I highly recommend it!
