Today I have not 1, but 2 books perfect for Summer crafting,
for all ages, both from the same author!

In both books, Suzanne expertly provides nostalgic and traditional summer camp craft ideas, plus more trendy Pinterest-worthy projects as well. Suzanne has made sure to provide crafts for a range of ages as well. She knows the importance of making sure all kids are included and have age-appropriate projects to make each child feel accomplished. As a mother and grandmother, she understands the special impact that crafts can have on developing children and their self-esteem.

"I’ve always enjoyed sharing my love of crafting with my family," she says. "When your family steps away from the electronic devices and takes the time to create with one another, you’ll be surprised at how many laughs and meaningful memories you’ll be making together."

McNeill has also observed how much practical knowledge her children and grandchildren have gained from crafting together. "When children create, they learn that there is value in completing a project from start to finish because the end result is well worth it. There is nothing greater than watching a child’s eyes shine with pride as they gaze upon their newly finished creation."

The first book is best for the younger set, and great for VBS/Sunday School use as well!

Foam Crafts for Kids collageFoam Crafts for Kids is filled with more than 100 wonderful projects for young children. Both boys and girls will love the incredible range of fun ideas in this book, and foam is a very versatile material that's super-easy to work with.

Foam Crafts for Kids instruction collageThis book is perfect for the younger set, most of these crafts can be done by kids themselves, once explained, with just foam, glues and scissors. When needed, templates are included that can be copies, enlarged (if needed) and cut out. If you have shaped foam pieces already, some of the crafts can obviously go much quickly.

The more complicated crafts include making bags, and younger kids will need some help, though as you can see the instructions for those include very clear photos.

And now on about the second book!

Kids will learn to make friendship bracelets, woven potholders, pony bead animals, plastic lanyards, wire art, rubber band jewelry, foam crafts, scoubidou, paracord gear, and more.

Using inexpensive, readily available craft supplies and simple enough to take along to the mountains or beach, it's the perfect solution for any family vacation! This big book also provides a sure way to liven up parties, scout meetings, rainy days, camp activities, and after-school activities.
Color photos, supply lists, easy-to follow instructions, and full size patterns make it easy to supervise the fun.

You will find some of the foam projects from the first book in this book as well. That along with the fusible beads, and simpler beading techniques work well for the younger set. But I would say this book is really more for the 8-16 set, as they can do all of the crafts by themselves, or with a minimum of assistance, thanks to the great photos and color coded diagrams, as you can see on the right. These diagrams are really great for the macrame style beadwork jewelry and friendship bracelet variations.

The book includes patterns that can be copied, enlarged and cut out to be used, when needed as well. It's a book that is perfect for taking along with you, and a small craft supply basket on vacation, to deal with 'vacation souvenirs and vacation boredom too! Or wait til you get home and find new uses for all those shells! Some of the crafts may be ones you've seen before, but Suzanne gives new styles and techniques
