Synopsis:

When she’s not on stage or in the studio, country music icon Martina McBride is most likely in the kitchen cooking with family and friends. Growing up on a farm in Kansas, Martina began helping in the kitchen at an early age, preparing fresh-from-the-field ingredients at her mother’s side. Meals and stories were shared daily around the table. It’s a tradition she continues with her own family as often as she can because real life is what’s worth celebrating. In this gorgeously photographed cookbook, readers will find more than 100 simple and satisfying recipes that entice with fresh,
seasonal ingredients and downhome flavor. Whip up her family favorites like her mother-in-law Flavia’s Deviled Eggs, husband John’s Bacon-Wrapped Olives, or her go-to Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Chipotle Sauce and Slaw. Mix things up in your own kitchen by following Martina’s inspired ideas to feed a handful or a houseful.

Review:

This is really more of an appetizers and drinks cookbook, although some of the recipes can easily be turned into side dishes, or used with other ingredients for a main course (ie her bolognese sauce). Each recipe is thoughtfully accompanied by an amazing photograph, and you may find yourself wanting to run to make both the drink and its appetizer! The book offers a great menu for a appetizer/tapas party, as well as for seasonal drinks. It's a fun cookbook, and would be a great gift item if included with some drink items, like a shaker and ingredients!

Recipes:

I'm sharing 2 recipes with you from the book that are perfect for FALL. The first would great for gift giving, to keep the kids occupied, or for having for any tailgate party. The second also would fit in for tailgating, but more for enjoying the cool weather on a sunny patio as the day closes! They go perfectly well together, but are fun apart as well! And with Halloween only
81 DAYS away, you might want to be thinking about that party fare as well!
