Do your kids have trouble focusing in school? I've got a new gummie that is not only healthy, but can help them focus in school: Just Focus Gummies with PS,from Vitamin Friends!
Vitamin Friends’ Just Focus harnesses Phosphatidylserine (PS), a clinically proven nutrient, to support and improve mind and body performance in children (and adults), of all ages. If you didn't know, PS is a building block of our body’s cells. It is responsible for communication between brain cells for maximum cognitive performance. if you have a child with dyslexia or ADHD, you might find that this new gummies can REALLY help their brains make connections and be able to do better with schoolwork!
Just Focus is a Vegan Gummie, organ, with NO nuts, gluten, egg, fish, soy, gelatin or other allergens. They are made with PS from sunflowers, organic cane sugar, organic tapioca syrup, water, pectin, citric acid, and natural flavorings. In fact my only issue is too much cane sugar on them, LOL. You can see when you go to shake them out of the jar, how much comes out for 2 gummies (daily serving)!
Just this past week alone, Miss Grace showed AMAZING improvement with some complicated dance steps she wasn't getting. She had spent weeks and weeks, not getting the steps together. BUT 2 weeks of using these Just Focus gummies and suddenly she HAD it. It might not be perfect, but it is worlds away from where it was before the gummies. She said "I don;t know why but suddenly they made sense and I could remember the right sequence"...I've also found that her she was much better able to sit and stay tuned into lessons, and we had less arguments, while taking them, as she got less sidetracked! They do come out to about $1 a day, BUT if your child really needs help focusing and remembering, they are well worth it!
Geranium Oil- one of the essential oils I added to the deoderant above was this one, as it has the same antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, of those already in it. It has a subtle, not overpowering sweet floral fragrance, that mixes well with other essential oils like lavender, rosemary, and lemon. It can also work as a natural insect repellent, which we found out when the mosquitoes left us alone when wearing the deoderant that had been mixed with it! Quite a bonus when you live in the South!
It is very similar in fact to Rose oil, as both flowers share the same therapeutic traits. We like to mix it with lavender and bergamot in Miss Grace's diffuser at night- it helps calm her, but also helps to soothe away any irritation, allowing her to fall into a deeper sleep. I've also found that the same blend, with coconut carrier oil, as a roll on, helps to each her anxiety, but because it smells more like a perfume, she's more willing to use it (aw, the perils of puberty again, LOL). overall, we both prefer it to rose oil!
Clary Sage Essential Oil - is you've never smelled Clary sage, it has a sweet, nutty fragrance, and is is WONDERFUL for using in a blended massage oil, or bath bomb, to help ease muscle pains and provide relaxation. The reason for this is that it works on spasms, getting the nerves to relax, so it can help muscles stop cramping and producing pain! Miss Grace really likes it mixed with some lavender, mint and geranium, in coconut oil, for an after dance class massage oil. It has really seemed to reduce her muscle soreness the next day!
That muscle relaxing makes it good for tweens and teens experiencing menstrual pain as well. It works really well at night, to help them be able to relax and sleep. You can also mix it into a calming blend, for those with frequent digestive issues as well! A simple roll on with coconut oil and lavender, and you have one they don't mind using! An additional use, perfect for tweens and teens, if that it can help with acne, by helping to clean the skin! Add some drops to your favorite facial oil, and your child may see a huge improvement in their skin! I love using it with lavender and fir as a post dinner relaxing blend. That blend in the diffuser and a good cup of tea, and all the day's worries can go away!
The Banyan Pure brand from Real Science Nutrition, is is an excellent brand of essential oil, and we'll be getting more form this new line!
Also from Real Science Nutrition, we checked out 2 of their essential oil blends for face and hair, from their Green organics line. As you know teens can be pretty fixated on both of those aspects!
Brilliance Hair Oil- an essential oil blend that gives you strong, shiny hair and improves your scalp health! Made of a mix of pure Argan Oil, Canaga Odorata Essential Oil, Bulgarian Lavender Oil, and Geranium Essential Oil, this mix can repair, softens and strengthen dry, brittle, frizzy, overworked hair. You know they type that teens get from all that daily use of hair dryers, hair spray, hair straighteners, and harsh hair color/dye bleach and chemicals.
Miss Grace is still growing out her previously bleached and dyed hair, and it is a MESS. It tangles on the merest hint of a breeze, and don't even ask about morning hair! LOL. But since applying this to her hair, it has stopped getting so tangled, and it is actually growing out much quicker than it was before, and has become VERY shiny and wavy again! YEAH! It has also REALLY revitalized my hair, which was suffering from meopausal changed. It's getting back to growing out again, and a VERY quick rate, and isn't as quick to break! YEAH! Plus I have found it works really well to help define my curls, when wet and reduce drying frizz- anytime I don't have to use the flatiron during humidity weather, I'm thrilled!
There doesn't seem to be any build up, and I've found it seems to be reducing my dry scalp, which actually comes from an allergy to the laurel sulfates in shampoo. the combination of oils seems to be offsetting it. Yeah! We're happy to have this blend around!
The last product I'm sharing is also from the Green Organics line, and one that moms, especially us older moms, will want to use, to help US feel better about all those parent-teacher and PTA meetings!
Nurture Facial Blend: This blend contains Argan Essential Oil, Gernaium Essential Oil, Carrot Essential Oil, and Patchouli Essential Oil. This is the perfect combination oil to treat dry skin and eczema, facial blemishes and work on fine lines, thanks to its antibacterial properties and cleansing action. By cleaning the skin, it helps to give deep penetration to the essential oils, helping them to moisturize and ultimately work together to make your skin look younger! That's something we can all love! I've also found that it works well on dry patches on elbows! For those with combination skin, it can be a huge help to evening out your skin, after just one week of use!
Teens and coeds will love how well it works on dark circles under the eyes, from too much late night studying and how it can help keep their acne at bay. In fact, it's the perfect oil to take on vacation, as it can work for both of your skin types, AND your hair!

Finding safe skincare that’s both effective and made without toxic chemicals can be hard — finding products that the entire family can use can be even harder, so I was thrilled to find this new product that can be used by both Miss Grace AND I: Scully's Natural Deoderant ! Scully's is made from a
carefully crafted natural formula of blended mints and citric acid, to not only kill the bacteria that causes odor in the first place, but to cool and soothe your skin with their anti-inflammatory properties. Plus the grapefruit citric acid can actually reduce the pH balance on your skin, to keep the odors at bay all day long! Together they are based in a filtered grain alcohol that lets your body release toxins and evaporates quickly.
The smell is VERY strong though. If you live in the South, you will know it- a certain mouthwash your grandparents used to take the sting out of ant bites? Yup- that's it exactly! I actually had to add some more essential oils, that blend with the mint and grapefruit, as neither of us could take the uber strong scent. BUT, they did not reduce the effectiveness of the spray-it still worked all day for both of us. Trust me, if it can deal with a 2 1/2 hour Irish Dance class, it can handle your day! In fact, Miss Grace likes to use it at night, after her shower, to keep her fresh all night into the am, as puberty is here and it has been am effective order/pH fighter for her!
The deoderant comes as a spritz spray, packaged in an eco-friendly bottle, that is easy to take on the go with you, and easy to use under shirts, if you forget on those busy morning, or if you need a refresher after work! Thanks to it's non-staining properties, there's no worries about your clothes getting damaged! And I love that you can get a 9oz refill bottle, and not have to keep buying more small bottles! We love it and you will too, especially if you're found deoderants not working for you- this one will!
