Review:

Quilt books have come a LONG way since I first learned how to quilt, and from when my grandmother taught my mother! Back in their day, everything was black and white. But as you can see, this new books shows each piece in it's respective color, so you can easily visually not only what the end product will look like, but that you're putting the pieces CORRECTLY! This is SO important to beginner quilters! They really need to udnerstand how the piecing fits the whole picture, not just the one square, so they understand you can't skip sections!

The instructions are VERY clear and I really love how you get mutliple ways of putting the squares together, to get quilts that look totally different! For example, the one below is really a variation on an Irish Chain, but it looks more like a DNA helix, doesn't it? It's gorgeous and I can't wait to try it1 The color pictures really help quilters understand light and dark balance too, especially when using scraps. And these quilts are PERFECT for using up those remainders! This is the book you'll want to make those comfy family quilts that your kids want to take off to college with them! So if you're a quilter, or new to it, give this book a chance to wow you over like it did me!
