And now for something a little different,
for your Christmas/holiday gift giving list!

Journals!

I know what you're thinking, but these aren't your ordinary journals- they are meant to inspire, to teach and to get you USING your creativity too!

Ellie Claire’s art journals offer an interactive way to get creative in your quiet time, but they are different than other journals! Today I have 3 journals from the new line, that I will be sharing with you, and each one will be perfect for the special people on your holiday lists this year!

Each journal has similar features (like lay-flat binding, thick paper, etc), but the interiors are entirely unique, but each teaches and encourages a different form of creative expression of faith!

The Illustrated Word

Create your own masterpiece with this journal that has forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts that have been recreated as line drawings. Just as medieval monks brought Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts hundreds of years ago, you can now create your own stunning keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

Probably the 'fanciest' of the 3 journals, this lovely journal is more suited to an older adult, or a theology student, thanks to it's bottom page quotes, religious pictures, and religious art to color. It also has a more mature feel to it, thanks to sturdier, yellowed paper, that begs for taking time and care in writing. It's not a bullet journal type journal for example. You could use it that way, but it would feel like putting expensive wine in a red plastic cup. No, this book begs for nice writing, with some royal looking gold, red and green highlights! The thick paper holds up well to maker, and I would rate it 6 out of 7! It would be perfect for a fellow bible teacher, a pastor, your favorite aunt, a secret santa gift for a co-worker, or a very nice hostess present!

This new journal comes from professional letterer Krystal Whitten! With guides, instructions, and tutorials, this is a fun and inspiring way to create beauty with words. It is the perfect place for journalers to practice Bible journaling, lettering quotes and verses, or decorating a page with original thoughts and plans. Exploring your God-given creativity has never been so rewarding.

Faith & Lettering sampleThis journal is perfect for the tween, teen and coed in your life! Although you MAY just find yourself steaking it for some quality crafting time, while you learn the different lettering styles! Course you COULD just buy 2, 1 for them and 1 for you! This journal lends itself more to the modern style of journaling, with bullet points, doodles, and filligree, thanks to its open style, bright white pages and fun drawing to repeat and color. I would rate the paper as 1 step below the first journal in thickness, but unless you're pressing really hard, you won't see any bleedthrough!

And now the last of the 3 journals:

Illuminate Your Story. cover

Learn to create your own beautiful illuminated letters with this how-to journal. Use the almost-lost art of illuminating letters to enhance your writing, Bible journaling, or sermon note-taking. Rich illustrated manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible’s collection inspired these gorgeous letters. This last journal is really a lovely combination of the first 2 books, and the that's why I saved it for last! It's actually the book I picked to keep for myself, thanks to the amazing illustrations for Celtic lettering that I can't wait to tackle, and use for our Christmas cards this year! As you can see, the instructions come with diagrams, so you can see eactly what each new penstroke should look like, and where it should be! There is also plenty of room to journal and thanks to blank and dotted pages, you have a wide array of choices! Like the second book, I would put it as a 5 out of 7 for bleedthrough possibility. Typical gel pens will work well with it1 Older teens, coeds and Moms will love this book- you can tackle little bits of creativity at a time and still be able to color and journal. Just think, while waiting on your kid's practice to end, you can be learning a new font to hand letter! It's also a good choice for a hostess present!

As you can see, each of these new journals is special in it's own way, and perfect for gift giving this year! Just add in a special pen, or set of pens, and you have a gift that keeps on giving, all year long! And that is the most amazing gift to give, isn't it??? We highly recommend all three!
