Carse has a great voice, and it is very well showcased on this album! From the amazing vocals on Amazing Grace to the funky beats of Awesome and My Shining Hour, to the encouraging I Sing (Miss Grace's fav of the album!). Crying in the Chapel is one of the all time favs from Presley, and Carse really gives a new take on it, that does NOT take away from Presley's version. My only negative is that Amazing Grace should have been at the end of the album with The Lord's Prayer, as the rest of the songs all lead up to Carse's amazing vocals on those two! This is really a family album versus one for a set age group, and one that is sure to be a family fav very quickly!
Need a last minute gift for a tween/teen, hostess or family member?
Got a perfect idea for you- this AMAZING CD!
My Shining Hour, is a collection of deeply personal original songs of faith, alongside stirring renditions of “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” Elvis Presley’s “Crying in the Chapel” and Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love.” Like Reach Out, his previous project, My Shining Hour is being produced as an album, and television special, to air internationally.
If you don't know Steph Carse, let me tell you about him first!
Singing is in Carse’s blood. Growing up in a diverse music-loving family, he has been exposed to many genres of music from very early on including opera, country, rock, gospel, pop and more. Carse began making his mark in the music world in the early nineties, singing French-language covers of popular country hits that took him to the top of the Canadian pop charts. This opened doors for him to start recording his own original songs, and then the award nominations began to come in.It is not surprising that throughout his career, he has recorded and preformed a wide variety of musical styles as well.
Carse has honed his skills as a world-class vocalist, traveling the world singing anthems of hope and inspiration, selling over half a million records along the way, and garnering friends and fans everywhere he goes. Even with all this success and dreams coming true, he experienced great loss, and those experiences drew him closer to God.
“After pursuing happiness through achievement and success for most of my life, I realized that my shining hour came at the moment I found boldness in my intimacy with God.” It’s been a journey nearly a quarter of a century in the making, but one that is gaining focus and purpose like never before, and now Carse is committed to using his gifts. to serve others. and bring glory to God. Carse has a compelling vision to help create a culture of people praying for one another and to empower them to fully reach their God-given potential. This vision is coming to fruition through his recorded music, live performances, the television specials, and his online web presence, and IN this album!
