Today I have another great gift for a new mom, that keeps on giving,
as it grows with your child!

Transitional Swaddle Sack

This new swaddle design from SwaddleDesigns is one of the 3 new designs they have that can help take your baby from a classic snug swaddling sleep blanket and a wearable blanket. Did you know that it is recommended that you stop swaddling your precious bundle of joy, with arms restrained, to when they are two to three months old? When your baby shows signs of rolling over, a tight fight can cause problems. BUT many 3-6-month old babies do not sleep well in a loose wearable blanket. I know, because Miss Grace was one of them! We had to make our own swaddle sleepers! So I was thrilled to see this new design!  Not only does it have a snug body, but it has uniquely shaped sleeves, with fold over mitten cuffs, that help with baby's startle reflex. BUT, most importantly, if your baby tries to rollover onto their tummy, they can STILL use their arms to push up, and get access to air. So it's the safer swaddler!

The Transitional Swaddle Sack is for infants 3-6 months, and as you can see it features the cuffed arms and a loose bottom, to allow for feet movement by your baby. With sturdy zippers that hide under cotton tabs, you can feel safe with your baby sleeping all night in this Swaddle Sack!

Putting your baby in the Transitional Swaddle Sack is easy peasy too- just lay them inside of it, place arms in and zip!

Swaddle Designs offers 3 different swaddle products for all stages of your baby's infancy, so no matter what age your buying for, there's a swaddler for any new baby:

swaddledesign products

Stage One (age range 0-3 months or until baby can roll over):  Swaddle to suppress the Moro Reflex (the reflex which “startles” the baby awake) with the Omni Swaddle Sack with Wrap, it keeps newborns cozy and secure.

Stage Two (age range 3-6 months): (above) Swaddle Sack bridges the gap between a classic snug swaddle and a sleeping sack.

Stage Three (age range 6-18+ months): No swaddling, but a wearable blanket for safe sleep. The zzZipMe Sack keeps baby warm and safe, and allows for movement of arms and legs. Includes a 2-way zipper and available in a multitude of fabrics.

So there you go-great ideas for the next baby shower you're attending, or for a new (newer?) mom this Mother's Day!
