Review:

This is a very good workbook for ALL tweens and teens, so that they can understand that ALL of them suffer from panic and anxiety,at one time or another! The difference is in how they HANDLE that anxiety, as to whether they suffer from stress, have a panic attack, or suffer in proverbial silence.

The workbook takes kids through what IS anxiety and the 2 main types- general and social, as well has specific fears and phobias and fears, before discussing myths and truths and then offering ideas of what NOT to do. This last section is the key- it TEACHES kids how to respond to common anxious moments, and how to settle their brain to focus on what they need to do, versus panicking and stressing out. I love the examples above. Kids always go to worst case scenario, and this helps them to see that that is normally NOT what is going to occur!

I also love how to book teaches them to baby step things. Deal with what is the CORE belief, that is making them go straight to panic, versus feeling confident. I love the step levels above and the countdown method (using the 5 senses) to learn to deal with anxiety at different stages. Miss Grace is just starting through the book, but already she's surprised at how universal HER feelings are,and I think this is going to be a brilliant book for her! This is an excellent book for teens, and we highly recommend it.
