Catching Faith 2 was co-written by Andrea M. Polnaszek and Alexandra Boylan and directed by John K.D. Graham.  Set four years after the original film, Catching Faith (released by RLJE Films in 2015), this powerful sequel about a family and their struggle to do it all, features many returning cast members, including Lorena Segura York (Hollywood Heights), Bill Engvall (“The Bill Engvall Show”, “Last Man Standing”) and Garrett Westton (Buried Secrets).

Synopsis:

Everything seems to be going wrong for the Taylor Family right now. Just as Alexa is starting her dream job, she’s overwhelmed by caring for her mother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Her son, Beau, has just lost his professional football career to an injury and her daughter, Ravyn, needs help planning her last-minute wedding. Only with the support of friends and the guiding grace of their faith can the Taylor family find the strength to cope with the tidal wave of drama and tragedy that is rolling over their lives.

Review:

If you remember the TV series, 7th Heaven, then you have an idea for the feel of the original movie, and this one. The Taylor's are any typical family with grown children- they are trying to find their place with the kids gone, when suddenly they are back with problems that need help from their parents to solve. Add in trying to start a new job with Millenials who don't comprehend all her old school ways, and Alexa could be ANY of us. Add in an ex-best friend coming back and trying to ruin every special moment with her daughter, and  it's understandable while Alexa's faith is being truly tested. But when tragedy strikes the family again, that's when they remember to lean on each other and TOGETHER with God as the focus, get everything back on track. It's a great family film about forgiving ourselves and others, and most importantly, learning WHEN to ask for HELP! Sure to provide lots of family discussion, we highly recommend it!
