Originally published in Japan, Sew Cute Quilts and Bags showcases the author’s inspiring use of color and retro design style. With over 30 projects to choose from, you can create multifaceted designs using patchwork and appliqué, along with embroidery, beading, and other special embellishments. Try your hand at some of these sweet, scrap-friendly projects: the Dancing Flowers Purse, Yoyo Bucket Bag, Blooming Flowers Quilt, Strawberry Blossom Wreath, Dancing Dresses Quilt, Sun Bonnet Sue Mat, Pastel Hexie Purse, and Charming Fruit Ornaments. Step-by-step instructions are included for all projects. This is the author’s second title published in English; it is a follow-up to the well-received Happy Flower Quilts

Review:

This book is literally adorable! It's full of cute items that will make you want to start sewing! While most are aimed at Spring and Summer designs, they are easily converted to fall and Christmas colors, and perfect for using up your scraps to make some great Christmas presents! We've found quite a few that we will be making before our local Spring strawberry festival!

As you can see, the instructions are very well laid out in with simple diagrams, that are color coded, to help you better visually see how to do the different construction techniques. The book can be used by all levels of sewers, from beginners to advanced, and along the way, beginners will pick up quite a few new sewing techniques and hints! It would also be a great book to give to a beginner sewer for Christmas with a card for fabric purchase! Highly recommended!
