Review:

Set in North Carolina, this movie literally updates Mark Twain's classic book into modern times, with modern characters. It's an interesting twist and one that Miss Grace and I both found heartwarming and endearing! It's a movie that starts a little slow, but suddenly grabs you and holds you close to its heart. It's wonderful to see a main character have Down's Syndrome but be allowed to shine way beyond perceived limitations. The relationship between Zak and Tyler is more than just buddies, and their actual chemistry shows through the filming, making the film even more realistic to younger audiences. This is a charming family movie and it would be very easy to use for older to kids, for comparison/contrast to the Twain classic! We highly recommend it!
