Synopsis:
Tattoo artists from around the United States invite you into their personal kitchens in this intimate cookbook full of their favorite home recipes. Full-color photos of their own tattoos showcase their work in vivid detail. Recipes are easy to follow and range from guacamole and margaritas to guava-glazed ribs, from mom's quesadillas de Oaxaca to vegan churros, and from grandma's baked apples to Freddy Corbin's apple pipe. Knives and Needles celebrates the intersection of food and tattoo culture and the beauty that comes from skill transforming into art, whether it is through ink or the plate.
Review:
Know someone who loves tattoos and likes to cook? THIS is the book for them this holiday season! Combing small interviews, amazing tattoo photography and some 'out of the box thinking' recipes (like Salmon burgers made with MAPLE or sausage and cheese stuffed tomatoes), it is totally unique in the cookbook field! The photography is just stunning- you;ll get lost in some of the tattoos for hours, looking at all the intricate details! The bios are short, letting both the food and tattoos, speak for themselves. It's an interesting addition to your coffee table or cookbook shelf!
Recipe:
This recipe comes from Jose Morales, who likes to add a touch of his Hawaiian home to both his art and cooking. These are PERFECT appetizers for the holiday season!
