We were sent a sample package of their Sitka Coho Salmon and their Wild Alaskan Pacific Cod. We LOVE salmon, so I knew we had to cook it first! But we weren't going to be home for a few nights, so I opted to keep it frozen when it arrived, and put it in the freezer until last night. It was quick to that out (in the fridge!), and then I placed it in a quick marinade for about 20 minutes. I know, I know, but we LOVE how this brown sugar whiskey mariande puts a light crust on the top, and the touch of dried rosemary, out on right before cooking, gives it such an unique taste! I followed the dirctions off of the sample recipes included in our pack for cooking, and 20 minutes later, it was ready,& we had the most AMAZING piece of salmon I've ever had! It was SO fresh, it was literally falling apart and tasted like butter! We only had a few small bones in the one fillet, probably as it was rather thick, the longer thinner piece didn't have any. Having been around fish all my life, I was very impressed that there weren't more bones, thanks to the superb processing! I did use some of the leftover marinade to makes mom's peach bourbon chutney to accompany the dish, and there literally was only enough salmon left for a couple of small fish tacos! Which I'm guessing will be fought over tomorrow! LOL

Perfect for fans, but even those who haven't watched the series will be enchanted and glued to this movie! Filled with intrigue and drama, it's perfect for holiday viewing to recall Victorian customs and how they influenced those in the Queen's time, and in our own modern times! Did you realize just HOW many of our Christmas traditions are actually based in Victorian times? It's true, Miss Grace just finished a unit study on them, and then when we watched this movie, she kept pointing out different things, that were obviously still holdovers, in 1927! Who knew a period piece could be educational? LOL But fans will adore this movie, and it's perfect for the person who loves high drama and amazing performances! It would be great f they can bring it back for more movies, set in later periods to catch up on everyone!

Mandie Manazo has crafted many of our favorite designs in their inventory, including Saint Brees, honoring the NOLA Saints quarterback. As you can see from the collage, their is a design (or 5) for everyone's personality and likes! Miss Grace decided as much as she loved it, she wanted something that really was HER. So she found a kit that combined her love of dance and the beach: Greet the Morning! It's one of their medium sized canvases and she can't wait to finish and put it on the wll over her bed, so it can catch the afternoon light! Their canvases do come in different sizes, so you can pick the one you think you can complete, and then level up and try a bigger one, and maybe even one of their large skyline ones!
You get everything you need in the kits- the colored canvas, with sticky squares to place your crystals, which are sorted for you (whew) and marked by code, so you can see where to place them by design and color on the canvasa. You also get an applicator and grip, along with wax and a tray to hold the diamonds you are using at the moment. Miss Grace has one wish and one complaint- her wish was that tke kit had small containers (like shown in top picture), as it would be much easier to them (and be able to sopt and go easier), versus the plastic sealed sacks the kit comes with. But she understood it would highly raise the cost of the kits in kit and shipping costs.. So we ended up picking up a set for under $8 and then she taped the code strip to the bottom of each, so she could move around and work on different sections, If buying the kit for a gift, I would HIGHY recommend buying a set of the jars, as part of the gift (plus the jars can be resued for other projects, making them a lasting gift too).
We both love that the plastic covering can stay on most of the canvas, while you are working on a section, and that the canvas doesn't dry out! Her only complaint was that the code sheets that are included can be a bit confusing if you have many shades of the same colors (as she did), and trying to differentiate the the different designs on the code chart. The wax tip applicator is comfortable to use, and very easy to pick up the diamonds with. As we do a LOT of beadwork, we are familiar with using other ways of picking up crystals, and hands down this is the best way! She really LOVES the kit, but does suggest it might be best for teens and adults, as younger kids may get easily bored and loose the diamonds, if not careful.

While we haven't cooked the cod yet ( I tneed to check out the recipes on their website first), I know it will be JUST as amazing as the salmon!
