As you know if you've read this blog for any amount of time, we don't believe in resolutions.
They just set you up to fail, and when you do, to demoralize you even more.
What we DO believe in is taking EACH month and making something better happen in your life, be it diet, exercise, more time with your family, taking up a hobby, etc.
Once you spend 2 weeks at something, it just might become a HABIT if you enjoy it, and suddenly you have sonething you do, and don't need to remind yourself about a resolution, to keep up with!
So here's our first idea, and concentrates on our kids- with a book that offers 40 Activities to Help Children Stop Unwanted Thoughts, Control Compulsive Behaviors, and Overcome Anxiety!

Review:
While this book is aimed at kids 6-11, older tweens and younger teens will also find it useful. Based on cognitive behavior therapy, this book is an excellent way for kids to understand what OCD means, what it looks like for some people, and how they can relate their experience with it to other kids'. It a no holds barred look and what at first seems simple, can really be a complex issue. The book offers great ideas for using meditation and mindlefulness especially, to work through thinking traps that OCD presents, and to face challenges head on, but with a new thought process. I had a cognitve therapist look at the book and she was very impressed with it, and felt it was a very good workbook to use alone, or with a therapist!. We highly recommend it as a way to help get your OCD kid on track this year!
