Synopsis:

When editor Sugar Calloway and baker Dixie Spicer went into business creating cookbooks, they found a sideline as amateur sleuths. Now a bitter family grudge could leave a fatal aftertaste…

At Sugar & Spice Community Cookbooks, the friends and business partners have secured a tasty new commission: producing a cookbook for the Abbott family. The Abbotts have made their fortune in quiches, and Sugar and Spice have been invited to a weekend gathering where all the siblings, along with crusty matriarch Marta, will be in attendance. But it’s soon clear that this trip will come with a hefty slice of drama.

Theo, the only grandson, arrives with his flaky fiancĂ©e, Collette, who quickly stirs up trouble . . . and is found dead the next day. As the investigation unfolds, secrets—and recipes—are shared, and Sugar and Spice realize just how messy and murderous the situation may be. As another family member falls ill, can they solve the case without getting egg on their faces . . .and a target on their backs?

Review:

This is the 3rd book in the Sugar & Spice Mystery series, but the first I had read. Who knew that making a cookbook from treasured family recipes could be deadly? This cozy series continues with the duo checking out a family, whose fortune is based on a quiche, that has become legendary. But was it always? There may be some sorded family secrets that literally come out of the woodwork, when one murder soon looks like there will be many more. This is a fun afternoon read that will definitely have you HUNGRY by the time you finish it! And maybe inspire you to pull out the family recipes too!

I don't know about you, but we've been experimenting with banana bread and cake, as we seem to be erring on too many bananas, and they just go bad so quick nowadays, don't they? Here's a killer banana bread from the book, that is very close to my grandmother's recipe!
