You've seen the commercials for escape room centers, but know they can get expensive.
You've seen the ads for the large escape room box games, but even they are expensive and can only be used once, negating being able to pass it on to someone else in your family, making them costly too.
But what if your family really likes solving escape room puzzles?
I have JUST the thing for you:
EscapeMail, which is an at-home escape-room style adventure game, that is not only easy to play with your whole family but is affordable, making it perfect for this crazy holiday season!
EscapeMail sends your family an envelope filled with everything you need for an instant adventure, delivered right to your home, with no tracking the package and waiting for it to arrive (maybe!). Each episode (envelope) contains a thrilling storyline, that involving a combination of physical manipulation, online and multimedia twists, and no worry, there are tiered hints available at every stage, if you get stuck! The storyline covers 12 episodes, which additional pieces delivered every month, so you stay involved in the overcrossing ale, while still solving individual puzzles and escapes!
As you can see from the sample kit we got, we received a partial map, some coding to solve, pictures to cut out and use, a starting letter with a link to the story episode, and even some hints on the envelope it all came in!
I let the teen group check it out (with some added incentives) and these homeschoolers decided even though they didn't have the playable link, they'd use the items to come up with their own. With their love of history and gaming, they quickly saw how the pieces could be fit into the storyline suggested and had a good time trying to figure out how the pieces could lead to online clues! The general consensus was that this could be a fun game to play with friends or family!
You can purchase a single episode (to try it out with the family), purchase the bundle of 12, or try a month and come back later and buy the remaining 11 (or 10 if you tried 2, LOL). episodes are $12.99 each. You can also choose the hardness level- easy, regular, or hard-depending on how intense you are solving puzzles! Each episode generally takes 1-2 hours to solve.
So if you're looking for the perfect, affordable mystery game, give Escapemail a look!
