  •  It is  the magical, musical story that shows believing can be the greatest gift of all. Follow the heartwarming journey of two orphan girls whose only wish is to find a home for Christmas. With a little help from their guardian angels (screen legends Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury), they discover that miracles really can happen when you find the power to believe.

From director Tim Janis, this inspiring holiday film for the whole family features an all-star cast including Jane Seymour, Roma Downey and Abigail Spencer, and is narrated by Kate Winslet and Robert Redford, with a special song by Sir Paul McCartney.

Review:

This faith based movie aims to make a new recipe from favorite movies like Little Orphan Annie, Mary Poppins and Pollyanna, and come up with something new that will delight modern audiences. The problem inherent in that is you have to have a cast and a script that are up to the challenge. While this is acute movie in some respects, in others it drags a bit and quickly can lose children's attentions. The saving grace, no pun intended, should be obvious: Dick Van Dyke and Angela lansbury. These two actors could save any movie, and they have with this one. Had they not been in it, I don't think I would have read it as high as I do. As a faith-based movie I'll give it higher ratings than I would a secular movie, mainly for effort. It's an interesting film to watch with older kids, and to discuss themes, socioeconomic history, cinematic elements,  and as always arguments for/against guardian angels! If you're looking for something different this year, this might be the movie for your family!
