Review:

Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans has anxiety? It really is no longer a hidden 'disease' but one that as a nation, we are experiencing more and more each day! So we need a book that can help us strive to not just 'remove factors from our lives, but properly deal with them.

The point that I truly LOVE that the author made in this book is that there isn’t a single cause or cure for anxiety disorders, because there often are multiple causes! If you think about it, he's right- worry, stress and anxiety can all come from multiple sources (work, school, family, relationships) and each can bring another symptom to the party, that you feel as anxiety. So why do we attempt to treat just one symptom? We need to look at everything that can be causing the symproms and see if we can remove the frustration, as to why the anxiety isn't going away, no matter what treatment is applied. It may seem simple, but it really if a whole person approach that is a HUGE difference than many tradiitional methods.

I loved how he used the analogy of breaking free from prison. It is something people can relate to, having seen it in multiple movies, and truly anxiety CAN feel like a prison at times! The steps that he gives the reader are easy to accomplish, and he ofers great advise and help, like to expect the unexpected. You need to KNOW that you will have setbacks, and you may take 2 steps back for every step forward. But knowing that it can happend, and hpw you will DEAL with it in advance, is what makes the difference, it is what allows you to keep moving forward!

Overall, this book is perfect for families dealing with a child with anxiety, or for adults with it- the approaches can be used for both, and offer some really good plans on not nly understanding why and what gives you the anxiety, but hw to better handle them!

There is also a workbook that you can purchase, to use with this book. I think it would be of great help to teens and coeds!
