Winnie's Picks makes unique paint by numbers for adults. Just like the kids crafts kids you remember as a child, taking the time for YOU, to complete a painting of a scene YOU love, can offer both relaxing AND creative time for YOU.

They have quite a varied collection of painting to choose from-for kids and adults, of all levels, as you can see from this sample:

Their varied collections include flowers, animals, landscapes, vintage and famous paintings! Plus, you can choose to get a DYI frame with your kit, so you're ready to hang it your masterpiece, as soon as you finish it!

They also offer custom paint by numbers, if you can't find the painting you want! It could be you favorite vacation pho, a family member, your pet, your home (great housewarming gift!), or anything you love! It's unique to YOU!  Six different sizes, based on your submitted photo

Each of their high-quality personalized kits  come complete with your chosen canvas painting rolled in a tube, a set of four brushes, a unique 24 or 36 color acrylic paint set, an A3 paper chart in case you paint the wrong color in a specific numbered area, and painting instructions to guide you through the painting process!

This was the painting I selected- the Shamrock Pub, a well know Irish Pub, based on American artist Marilyn Dunlap's painting. I love the bright colors and can easily see putting it in the bathroom, dining room or kitchen, as the print is that versatile.

Here is what was included in my kit:

As you can see the pots are individually numbered, and for a kit this size, offer a good amount of paint. You can also order an extra set of paints, if you think you might run out and I may need to do so- more on that below. You can see the included brushes as well. I originally started with them, but ended up getting more professional brushes to use, as I prefer my brush to be a little more stable for these type of acrylics, but that is me. I'm not sure why my kit came with the hanger, as I had no frame...possible oversight there.

As you can see, you canvas is rolled, and unless you leave it flat with weights for a few days, it will keep trying to roll while you are painting, until there is enough paint on it to help keep it flat while working on it. I really liked having the small picture included, so I had a handy reference to what my painting is supposed to look like. My big issue was with the included paper chart. I would have love to have it LARGER, so the itty bitty hard to see spots didn't require a magnifying glass- and it wasn't just me- the 14 yr old took over the painting for an hour, before declaring it was hurting her eyes, as sections were so small! Obviously I grabbed a kit that was on the harder level, LOL. I ended up taking cell phone pictures of every section, so that I could easily zoom in to see where a section ended, or where it wrapped around. Keeping these picture son my cell phone, has been a bit more beneficial.

Some things to note while working on these kits. The paints are typical acrylics so you might need a couple of coats to cover up the number underneath (as you can see above on the white and orange sections- just be careful not to overdo-though that ends up making it look like a real painting!).
In the other 2 sections above, you can start seeing the pattern coming along, AND how small the sections can be. We ended up moving around the painting a lot, as needing to let one section dry, and trying to work on one color before changing brushes.

The solution we found was a magnifying glass with white lights. As you can see the bright white helped to read the numbers better-some of those small space numbers can be a bit fuzzy- AND to see where the lines actually are WHILE painting. It's a bit pain staking, but after about 15 minutes we each got the hang of it and it went a bit faster,, as we could actually see the lines better, as we painted them, so there was more defined lines and coverage, You can see the difference above in the floral sections (color) versus the black areas (that were painted without it, and with supplied brushes, in the beginning). With this type of painting, it's going to take us awhile to finish this painting, but here is where we are now:

As you can see, we made a lot of progress and when you look at the supplied picture, you can really see the painting coming to life!

If you fall madly in love with paint by numbers, and how relaxing they can be, then Winnie's also has a great program for you:
