So as an essential worker, I didn't really get the whole Covid-shutdown thing. But I got the baking and jigsaw puzzle craze, but I was actually surprised that there wasn't a renewal of quilting! After all, if you have time to make bread repeatedly, then you have time to sit and make patchwork tops out of all those clothes (aka fabric) you were throwing out of your closets (!) and then you've got even more time to do some fun hand or machine top quilting and binding too! SIGH, I guess it's a matter of lack of sewing machines (hello come to my house, we have 4 working, 1 not, LOL)....
This book would be the perfect way to get back into sewing, or to learn basic quilting and patchwork! There are simple and easy fun projects that don't require a lot of material and more involved full size quilts to really learn everything about quilting! Even if you aren't necessarily a cat lover, they'd be fun to give as presents (Christmas is less than 100 days AWAY people- are you like us and just not into it this year???). It's a fun book for teens to learn basic sewing techniques from, or for giving-make up a fun gift basket for a cat/craft lover, with this book and some fun materials in a basket!
