We missed National Popcorn Day....it just popped on by, as we've been SO crazy busy!

Our Gourmet Popcorn is popped fresh daily at the Prospector Theater - a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to competitive and integrated employment for people with disabilities through the operation of a first-run movie theater in Ridgefield, CT. Employees of the Theater are known as Prospects, and we live a higher quality of life through the popportunities that meaningful work provides.
Prospector Popcorn comes in 8 different flavors, ranging from sweet to savory, and is available in small (bites packs, 2 oz each) and medium bags (4oz). You can buy one of their selected gift boxes, or you can make your own box for gift-giving- I soooo love that option!
We were sent a sampler box of their 3 top flavors to try: Belgian Chocolate Toffee, Sweet and Spicy and Classic Caramel.
A sweet and salty sensation! Their caramel popcorn is topped with Belgian chocolate, their buttery toffee, and just enough salt. If you want to get hooked on specialty Gourmet Popcorn flavors, they suggest starting with this one for a reason! As you can see, besides popcorn, there are pretzels (!!) in the mix too! When I say we devoured it, I mean 3 adults killed a bag in less than an hour- it is pure addiction, with just the right amount of brown sugar, salt, and chocolate, to hit all of your loved taste profiles! If you're making a gift box combo for your sweetie, this one HAS to be included!
Their Classic Caramel gets a kick from their favorite hot sauce, Mule Sauce by Sticker Mule. Infused with heat from Habaneros, Scotch Bonnets & Ghost Peppers, “mule” love this kickin’ flavor! It looks soooo innocent doesn't lit? And on the first bite, you think, 'oh it's not so bad'. Then the heat kicks in and you're like "yup taste those ghost peppers"! LOL. Da kid devoured this one- it was just a bit too much heat for me. For those who like SPICY, THIS is their popcorn!
The starter, from whence all their great flavors come from: fresh popcorn coated in a rich, buttery brown sugar-based caramel, with the perfect hint of vanilla. A decadent delight! Try not to eat the whole bag! We literally had to put it in snack bags, otherwise, it would have been gone within an hour too! It's the perfect caramel- sweet but not oversweet!
But what truly makes this gourmet popcorn unique is that the company wants to transform the lives of disabled individuals by giving them equal, competitive and integrated employment opportunities so they can live better lives. To date, they’ve already employed over 200 people with disabilities.
