Review:
This is really more of a back to basics heart healthy diet book. That means seasonings are at a minimum, there is no salt to any of the dishes. While we only add as necessary, it should still be an option. I can attest that any savory dish in the book would get a healthy dose of Cajun seasoning as well. Maybe it's just a difference in preferences. The recipes are simple, and can easily be built upon to add more depth of flavor to each one. But they are 400 calories, so ....The book does not have any pictures, but again, as the recipes are so simple, it's not hard to picture how they will turn out. The better section is the how to to change your family recipes to healthier ones, ie what substitutes you can make. Not a bad little cookbook, but other diet recipe books may have more flavor to the recipes.
