DISCOVER AN ELECTRIFYING NEW CRIME SERIES FROM A BESTSELLING AUTHOR.
A missing woman. A cold case. A dark secret, buried deep beneath the Yorkshire Dales.
Summer 1997. Vicky Mott slips out the door of her remote stone cottage, and into the pale dawn light. She won’t wake her friends. Not after the night they just had.
She scrawls a note, her hand trembling with excitement. Gone to see the sun rise. V xxx
That’s the last anyone ever hears from vibrant twenty-year-old Vicky.
Everyone warned her. Of the predator stalking the lush green fells. Convicted killer Terence Bielby. He strangled three hikers before he got to Vicky. Now he has her blood on his hands, too.
It’s only a matter of time until the evidence surfaces . . .
Now, 2019. A human skeleton is discovered in a dark and treacherous cave beneath the Dales. The final resting place of Vicky Mott?
THE DETECTIVES
Detective Leo Donovan is a veteran of the Yorkshire force. A true empath, he’s happily married, but prone to low mood and bouts of arthritis. Compassion motivates him, and a need to see justice done in a flawed world that is seldom fair. Leo’s wayward son drives him to distraction, but working with his partner Shan is a breath of fresh air.
Detective Shan Young is a rising star of Leo’s team. She lands her first case as detective while pregnant. Not that she’s fazed by it. A salt-of-the-earth Yorkshire lass with Chinese heritage, she often feels caught between two cultures — something which makes her appreciate Leo all the more, as a mentor and a friend.
THE SETTING
Welcome to the Yorkshire Dales, an untamed landscape of fells and valleys, waterfalls and ruined barns, deep, dark caves and windswept limestone pavements. Farming and mining have shaped these remote hills over the centuries. But what secrets lie buried beneath the spectacularly beautiful surface?

Review:
This is book one in a new series!
Our second book today also has a historic case, that resurfaces thanks to discovery of a skeleton in a cave. Is it the missing girl? How can it be, when she wasn't last seen in that area? Or was that her last sighting? Leo and Shun have to dig deep into the past to try to get the involved parties to let go of previous notions/beliefs/and secrets to tell them the truth, to see is Vicky left on her own, or was taken from the rental house she was at, and was their foul play in her death? Another twisty novel, this one will keep you rapidly turning pages to see what really happened to Vicky and who was involved! Don't miss this new series!
