Synopsis:

My whole life, I've been haunted by a secret I've left behind on the coast of Ireland. I may be gone, but if you’re reading this Casey, I need to tell you everything…

When Casey’s dear friend Rosie passes away, her heart breaks in two; Rosie didn’t even tell her she was sick. And when a mysterious letter arrives from beyond the grave, describing the secluded island where Rosie spent every summer, Casey questions if she really knew her friend at all. With Casey’s hectic job ruling her life, and her marriage crumbling around her, she books a ticket to this beautiful Irish island to feel close to Rosie again, and find out what secrets she has hidden there.

Casey rushes to the tumbledown cottage and immediately falls in love with the glimmering shores and breathtaking coves of Scarty island. Why did Rosie keep this magical place a secret, even from her own husband? Desperate for answers, she immerses herself with the locals organizing afternoon teas for tourists, and helps handsome but overworked pub owner Shay. Though Shay stays tight-lipped, Casey notices how his hazel eyes shine when she makes him laugh, and how her heart skips a beat when his rough hands brush hers.

But just as Casey finds herself falling for Shay’s quiet strength, a final letter arrives that changes everything. The tear-stained pages tell the story of a forbidden romance and a tragic day at sea that destroyed Rosie’s life. It could shatter Casey’s blossoming romance and tear the small island community apart.

Review:

This is a book you will NOT want to put down once you started reading it! It may seem like 'chick-lit', and it is to an extent, but it's also about the relationships we form- how they change over time, like waves, and how sometimes we loose touch with who we really are. So I'd say it's more about change- the fear it takes to make that first step, the small victories, then the larger ones, as we find strength in our fears and find ourselves in a much better place, for having taken that small step! A book that will have you rooting for Casey and Shay, and maybe a bit for yourself, this isn't a book to be missed!

About the Author:

Thanks for stopping by. I love to write uplifting women’s fiction. My favourite spot to write is at my kitchen table with my two dogs at my feet, waiting for a break when we can go for a walk by the Irish Sea.

Sometimes ideas come straight away, and I can't stop writing until I have it all down. Other times, it takes an early morning walk on the shore to work out the fine details of the plot.

Families, the power of friendship, and how women, when they band together are at their strongest are some of my favourite themes. There are plenty of secrets and be prepared to cry, but also, I hope to laugh out loud. I hope you enjoy reading my novels as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

My bestselling novels have been translated into twelve languages so far. I am also a journalist working on a national newspaper in Dublin. I live on the east coast of Ireland with my husband and two children, the two dogs, and a cat or two.
